You'd want to ask for the "professional" version.

The circle skirt instructions on my web site are also this style of skirt. The look you talked about in your original post was achieved by making three of the half-circle panels, sewing the back two to each other, while not sewing the front panel to either. That's exactly how the L Rose "professional" style is made. I've made a bunch of these myself over the years. I suppose one of these days I should pose for some photos of one with the slits arranged in the leg-exposing way, just to illustrate that as a way to wear it.

I too like L Rose as a supplier. I'll admit I haven't bought circle skirts from L Rose, but I've bought a lot of veils, trumpet skirts, and dresses, and was very happy with all of those.
Yes, it would be the "professional" version. And Shiras site has great instructions for making your own. I have quite a few skirts like this. It's fun to layer them!

The "best" style is 1/2 circle front, 1 full circle in back, but it's not a hard and fast rule. The very first dance skirt I ever made waaay back in the early 80s was 1/4 circle in front, 3/4 circle in back, out of black satin. I still have that skirt (the hem recut and resewn more than once!). I have a purple satin skirt that is a full circle in front and a second full circle in back.

The casing (with elastic or drawstring) is the key that lets you slide the skirt more open to show more leg (or underskirt or pants) or more closed. I think elastic works better than a drawstring because you can put the skirt on, adjust the panels where you want them, then safety pin them in place to the elastic. The panels will stay put.

I've never placed a custom order from L Rose but I have a few of their things and the items are all top quality.

You can, I have a satin circle from LRose that has the double slits, but I'm not brave enough to make "full use" of them

I like to double up on chiffon skirts, they don't seem to get too hot. I have a pink chiffon with the double slits, but again, not brave........but this summer if it's 100 degrees again I might suddenly learn some bravery.

You didn't show your goodies by wearing a proper belt with some weight to it.If you posed wrong in it, it looked like you were just wearing the belt-not a good look!

But, a properly made belt that actually came onto the top of the thigs (Yes, they were that thick!) kept the front from flying up and open in a spin.

I've always had heavy thighs, and in my younger years when I had a very long slender torso I didn't like to show that much thigh. The contrast was wrong so I wore harems under mine.

am absolutely in love with this style too and am working with a new supplier (finally ) to get some made up in a nice charmeuse silk again..the drape is sooo pretty and not clingy like habotai

i do have a 1/4 in front and 3/4 in back skirt and yes it shows a lot of leg. i tuck veils in to the hip area to disguise out any possible panty flashes or wear a chiffon skirt underneath..it's all about illusion

in this pic i have a turquoise chiffon skirt underneath but the silk skirt (the bright chartreuse one) is the one that is 1/4 in front

same style but has a full half circle in front and i've spread it open a bit more..it is silk habotai

this page, along with the site, needs update but here is more info

    Bellydance Silk Circle Skirts

and I'm still wanting to paint the slimmer two panel style once the dyes arrive

I have three of Jes's 3 panel skirts. 8mm I believe. They are to die for!

I believe that LRose does use China silk. Not sure the weight. They also do custom dying.

I ordered a plain white silk circle and a half skirt from L Rose a few years back and they said it was 8mm.

    Here's Cory's picture:

I like those slit skirts too - although I've never tried wearing one myself. I dunno how the audience would like my hairy legs!

I do keep threatening to make/get/have made one of those 70s Turkish style triangular panel skirts.

I have bunch of chiffon and silky material these kind of skirts I use with various ways, with harem pants, another color same type of skirt.
I buy the material from any fabric store either with design on it, or just plain and have my tailor lady make it for me.
One half circle in the front, and 2-3 half circle in the back.

back in the day (late 80s?) I saw some dancers in skirts that had that super leggy bare thigh look, but instead of being open from hem to floor, they were somehow drawn up and sewn to the front panel so the skirt dipped down in an open drape revealing the tops of the thighs, but wouldn't fly open when you spun. check out suzanna del vecchio's video of return to the goddess:
Belly Dance Videos by Suzanna Del Vecchio - best beginner's belly dance video
it *looks* like when you take the bottom edges of the back part of your skirt and tuck them up in front, but it's not tucked, it's actually sewn. I have NO idea how you would come up with a pattern for that. I think maybe delilah had a skirt like that, too. i should ask her. but these skirts are so awesome. all the yumminess of that glimpse of skin, but no risk of raqs beaver or showing too much of your legs if they're less than perfect.
