    Makeup for lunch show?

There's a restaurant that I dance at occasionally, but today is the first time that I am doing lunchtime shows. I didn't really think about it until this morning- is performance makeup the same no matter what time of day, or should I go for more of a "daytime" look? I already do a lighter makeup application at this place, since there's no stage- it's all dancing around the tables. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'd say keep it exotic and ultra polished, but kick the intensity down one notch.

You could do your usual smoky-eye in plums, coppers, bronzes, browns or charcoals instead of black, for a look that's daytime appropriate but still smoldering. A sophisticated nude on the lip would also be nice in lieu of the harsh hooker reds that are typically worn for evening.

Thanks- that's exactly what I did. Lipstick was less "hooker," eye makeup was still exotic, but not quite as dark- I still used black eyeliner, but used a thinner line, didn't make it as dark, and didn't extend it past my eye. For eye shadow, I still used 3 colors, but didn't build them up as darkly as I would for night. I still used the intense black mascara, but not the primer for it. I felt good, the show went well, everyone had fun, the owner was pleased, and tips were pretty good. A good day.
