honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
I love this costume, bra and belt are made of rhinestones only.. it's sparkling and glamourous - but some people told me the bra looks too massive for me...
what do you think?

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
It looks like the cups are not against you. Have you padded it?
A front shot would help determine if the cups are too wide for you (it looks like they might be).
It is beautiful.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
Looks like it needs a bit of underneath-padding to push the babies up a bit, but Sandra's right, we need to see another angle to be sure.
Gorgeous costume!

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
Well it looks great from the front, but if I were you I would stick a pair of socks in each cup and see how it looks then!

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
I agree that a little padding at the bottom and sides of the cups would help it look a little more filled out from every angle. However, I think it looks fine from the front, and the cups look proportionate to me as they don't spill over into your armpits.

No, no, it doesn't fit at all. Send it to me!

I think what the other ladies said, just a little bit more padding might make a difference. It's gorgeous. Wherever did you get it?

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
While it looks like it fits from the front, there is gaping at the top of the cups. I agree with what everyone said, pad the bottom and sides. If it's already padded, pad it some more, I know a cup dancers out there who are rocking c cup costumes with the magic of padding!

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
I dont know, my dear...the side shot looks great but in the Mae West pose the heigth seems a bit too tall. The tip of the cups where the strap joins is up really high. It is not so much the cup capacity...it is the over all frame work. Now, while I would buy this from you in a heartbeat (ok..I am shameless...and almost 6 foot and really wide in the shoulders) I am also dead honest.

Looks great from the front, but a little padding is always a good thing- very classy!
Do tell where you got it please!

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
I think it does look a bit big for your girls, BUT like everyone suggested, stuff underneath the girls to give them a lift, creating cleavage. That might help.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
Thank you for your feedback ladys! I'm really not sure about it... I already did a LOT of padding - but I'm a b with small underbust and this seems to be made for a c or d cup.
To satisfy your curiosity
I got it from Salima and she got it from Legendcostumes - an amazing work.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
Yes, definitely pad the cups from side to fix gaping but also I think your neck strap is too short - makes the bra cups seem even bigger because they are so high up on your chest. I strongly recommend you can also put an inch of double elastic at the top of the neck strap which will just makes the fit a lot better; moves with you yet is secure.
I have a bra that looked and is pretty massive and it required extra padding for my C girls plus elastic at top of neck strap AND in the back strap to provide a better "fit". Without the elastic in neck strap and back strap, my big bra had to be too tight on my body and I could barely breathe (not a good thing for a dancer)!
Believe me, it is a lot easier to fit a bra that is a skosh too big than too small; I've been there and small bras are well and truly a nightmare!
It is gorgeous on you; don't give it up! ..g.:Last edited by Nisima; 04-30-2009 at 12:01 PM.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
Actually...I think you might need to move the bra straps (neck strap) in just a little on each side. You mention small rib cage. I have that problem too and what I'm seeing here looks like a lot of bras I've wound up having to alter--the straps are hitting the cup too far out to the side for the width of your ribcage and sliding almost under your armpits. Moving them in a bit (maybe even just a 1/2 inch on either side) would alter the proportion a bit and ALSO bring the cup a tad closer to your chest which would help with the padding/gapping situation.
I think lengthening the neckstrap would actually exacerbate the gapping problem, but I agree, the proportion *does* look a little off. Often moving the strap in slightly will do the trick
Disclaimer, I'm making these statements based on a couple of pictures...without seeing the fit in person and the materials/shape of the cups and straps, it's hard to be 100% sure. But this is my best guess based on having had similar problems and the issues I can see in the pics.
good luck--it's a gorgeous set!

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
I think it is ALMOST too wide for you, but ok. Adding more padding will definitely help.
It is gorgeous and you wear it well.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
Oooh, good eye, Mirah! I have to do this as well on a lot of my bras for the same reason - the straps are attached to widely to the bra, so they emanate from my armpits instead of my chest. I agree this should help a lot.
I'm barely an A and I've successfully padded/altered up to a C many times. The only time it's failed is if the cups are so big they got into your armpit (causing horrible chafing as well as looking odd), or if they come so far up your chest it's laughable.
I think this set, especially since it's so lovely, is definitely doable for you with a little tweaking.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
i agree with the others. i think it looks great but a little work to move the straps and a little padding would make it look even more fabulous :)

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
ita with others who said padding. also, can the cups be angled in a-la wonderbra? it might improve the line & push up effect.
remember, just like stage makeup, stage padding is much more extreme than everyday wear, so don't be afraid to really go for it ;)
great set...the bedlah i mean, haha

Blimey aren't you all observant and resourceful? If I ever have a similar problem I'll be posting piccies straight away.
I think the neckstrap stuff and the wonderbra idea are dead on.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
I think the bra is too big.Not wanting padding but comes too high up for you. It looks out of proportion to your frame. you've a fabulous figure and this bra does not flatter it. i don't think its the best shape for you.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
The bra on your ribcage looks off to me. I'd like to add that to me, the connector between the bracups is very high, and the cups are not tilted towards eachother like a push-up bra. You could try that for a more flattering line, but the bra would still look large on you.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
Thank you all! I was thinking and thinking about it, but the bra will still look big on me after all.. I will think again for some days - but I want the audience watch my performance, not to think about my bra. For sure it's a great costume, but to be honest to myself, I've got a lot of pretty costumes and also I know myself, this one will sit in my closet....
I will post it at swaap meet in a view days.

Re: honest opinion - is this costume fitting?
I think you're making the right choice. You have a lovely figure but that doesn't flatter it. It will make someone else very happy.
I'd also suggest that the color might be too light for you. If I step back from the computer I have a hard time seeing where the costume is and where you are, it blends together, so audience members who are seated far away might not see your movements very well.
I think our coloring is very similar, I've had to give up on all-silver or mostly silver/rhinestones.
