Re: What do you bring to a gig?
i would add to that list, double sided tape or special 'clothing' tape just in case! ( i've used packing tape on the inside of my bra before...fun times!)

Re: What do you bring to a gig?
Body tape, a ridiculous amount of safety pins, hair brush, bobby pins, small butterfly clips, ponytail holder that matches my hair color, static guard (nothing worse than a having your veil stick to you), hair spray, body spray (not perfume), deodorant, extra music, makeup for touch ups, baby wipes, ummmmm....that's all I can think of right off the top of my head. But that also reminds me that I need to get a bigger bag.

I am the worst!!! I have the biggest rolling suitcase ever. But at my show I have to not only bring all my stuff but the lighting, flyers, cards and gift bags for the dancers. Weighs a ton!

Re: What do you bring to a gig?
Static guard is very toxic. Did you know you can achieve the same end with a mist of water? I always bring water with me. Just pour a tiny bit in your hand, flick your fingers over your veil (or other staticly charged item) and static be gone! Ask a science-minded person but it has something to do with an imbalance of electrons and water fixes that. You only need a little water so don't worry about a soaked veil for your performance! Breathe easy for a better show.
I carry: extra music, lipstick, water, ipod, extra set of zills, extra pair of earrings, extra boobs (stuffing for those nights you realize you're not filling your cups enough and there's a gaping issue), bandaids, deodorant, a snack (almonds are good) and business cards. I like to travel light so I've reduced it to the minimum I need that night but with extras for unforeseen crisises.

I've tried the water sprinkle...doesn't work for me. Do you have any articles or links that discuss the toxicity of Static Guard?

Small sewing kit (needle and black thread), a starter $1, baby diaper pins (they never come undone), extra music, zills, dance shoes, body glitter, body makeup (for underarm 5 o'clock shadow!), vitamin water/gatorade style, trail mix, business cards, a fan, a towel, a magazine, a coverup.

Re: What do you bring to a gig?
In my gig bag, at all times, are 2-3different types of dance shoe (dance paws, Aruba sandals, and modern dance half sandles) my tinkerzills (for when it's really small and in case I forget to pack whichever zills I plan to use) extra business cards, And emergency "OMG my set didn't play/has issues/forgot it" set CD, extra diaper pins and handy wipes.
Usually I have some sort of emergency sewing kit...but that's at all times, not just when I dance.

Re: What do you bring to a gig?
What I learned today was that I should always pack a body moistuizer with me. My elbows tend to have the natural moisture level of a dog biscuit, and slapping some cream on right before going on stage makes them look a lot better.

Re: What do you bring to a gig?
zills (two pair), shoes (one pair- I prefer barefoot), pen, sharpie, CDs of all sorts, baby wipes, safety pins, bobby pins, extra jewelry, change of costume (usually do more than one show), clothing for afterward (or at least clothing to wear under my coverup), translucent powder, neutral full bottom costume panties, business cards, little sewing kit, a small mirror that stands on it's own (for those glamorous changes in the closet!), a couple small hand towels (wrap costume when I take it off, dry off before changing), girly emergency supplies... That's all I can think of. In my purse I have an arsenal of lipsticks and in my car I always have extra veils.
