Cutting Beaded Fabric
Has anyone here ever cut fabric that was already ebroidered with beading? If so, what were the results. Would you recommend it? Do you have any tips?

use "fray check".buy it at a sewing store.i put a ring of it around the sewing area, on the beading threads.

Re: Cutting Beaded Fabric
I treat it as I would steeks (in knitting). I stitch just before where I'll cut, and right after, leaving about 1 cm between seams. Fray check between seams. Cut once dry. Works awesomely well. Mind you, this was for cuts that were short in length. Not sure how it would work for a full length cut. I think the key is to know in advance where you will cut. Improv is not a good thing *g*

Re: Cutting Beaded Fabric
I've flat-out used fabric glue dotted over the areas where the beads are separated from each other.

I am assuming you are talking about the project from the what you are working on thread. I highly recommend purchasing some light weight iron on stabilizer from the fabric store. Iron it on the back side. This will hold all the threads in place wherever you wish to cut.

Re: Cutting Beaded Fabric
Fabric glue is your friend!!! I've cut apart and repurposed many beaded dresses.
I run a thin line of fabric glue along the cutting line. Then I smear it flat into a "ribbon" with my finger (but an old popsicle stick works too). And let it dry.
Then I cut right through the center of the dried glue "ribbon". Each side of the cut is sealed by glue.
In a pinch, even Elmers glue will work, but Elmers glue does not hold up that well after washing.
