I am considering botox for my forehead creases and crows feet. Can anyone share their experiences? Did you like or dislike it? Did it work for you? Did you end up with frozen face? How long did it last? How painful are the injections? I refuse to grow old gracefully!..l;,

Re: Botox?
first off, i hate needles.second, i feel a dancer needs her face to convey.hollywood is haveing a lot of concern over character actors who can not convey with their faces due to botox.
i would not do it, i feel a face/neck,forehead is best.i am doing it again when i hit 60 in 2010.

I have had botox before and i love it i only had it on my forhead . i had them do just above my eye brow cause i think alot and waise my eyes brows but there where still expression lines in the upper for head . it make you look youthful and refreshed. it feels like a bee sting it take 3 days to full work and last about 3-6 months for me 3-4 months.

in small towns ...like here, *sigh*....doctors go overboard ! we have an upper class part of town, or so they think, all those women look alike.it reminds me of nose jobs in the 50s and 60s...all alike!.have not figured that one out yet.lol

Re: Botox?
one last thing, a prayer, mantra....no matter what you do to the outside, if what you are removing was put there by abuse, stress, horrid memories, toxic people , etc we must work on that along with the outside.yes, while i put stuff back to where it was supposed to be, i never forget what caused it to get there.need to nip the cause of "the worry" as well as it's footprints

Re: Botox?
I had Botox done for the first time this year for both the between-eyebrows line and the forehead horizontal lines. It rocked. Smoothed out the lines but left me with plenty of expression. A good technician can target the correct muscles to cut down on the lines without completely obliterating all ability to move. "Frozen face" means you've got an inexperienced technician or you've done too many areas. My expressions have become more intentional, that is to say, I can frown any time I *want* to, but I no longer find myself unconsciously frowning when I'm just concentrating, driving, or having a bad dream, etc. I can raise my eyebrows too, whether to express surprise, sexy look or whatever - it's just more intentional.
I'm too young for a facelift - I don't have any sagging skin to correct but I do have some lines.

Re: Botox?
You could always try it... if you aren't happy with the results, they aren't permanent so the risk is pretty minimal.

Re: Botox?
Thanks for the suggestion of the Avon products Cory. I was wondering if those work.
I don't have any forehead lines yet, but I have considered getting my armpits botoxed. I know it sounds weird, but supposedly it helps with excessive sweating. I sweat like a whore in church (please excuse the crude expression. lol). It doesn't matter if it's the middle of winter, I still sweat like crazy and all those fancy deoderants and antipersperants, including Certain Dri, don't help.

Re: Botox?
I had it done a few years ago. It came out great, except for the fact that I already had tmj and it made it worse ( really bad headaches ). They were tension headaches across the top of my head. But, I'm thinking of trying it again. I'm waiting to pay off some bills first before I can justify it. It doesn't hurt at all. Two quick jabs (for me) and it was done.

Re: Botox?
i love the dr.'s and dermatoligist that i have her in San Diego , they are always telling not to do anything or if i want to just a little so they are not money hungey and realistic. hey they could totally tell me i need alot and make it so my forhead was stiff. but they just did a tiny bit and it looked really natural. we have to have facial expression because it does look creepy and althought someone might look young it is weird when there face does not move. poor priscilla she had industral silicone put in her face by a wak job. it was not botox and they can not ever take that out with out digging it out of her skin.

Re: Botox?
I have already seen my cosmetic surgeon about having my eyelids and a brow lift done but the estimate was just over $10,000. I don't have that kind of money. He said I am not ready for a lift yet at all. I'm only in my mid 30's. I think a little botox might help. Maybe I will just start with the deep lines between my brows and see how it goes. I hear some people get a massive headache from it. Cory, I did try the Anew eye cream and after using it twice a day for 4 months I did not see any difference at all in the crow's feet or lines on my cheeks under my eyes when I smile. I think they are getting beyond what a cream can do at this point...lol. I am starting to save for the face lift though. I figure 5 more years until then. I plan on it being a gift to myself for when my kiddo goes off to college and hubby and I take a second honeymoon.

Re: Botox?
go to differnt places to see what it cost her it is $4,000 for the uper and lower eyelid. my dad got the eyes brow lift and the upper eye lide i'll ask him how much. but hey prices are going down doe to the economy. the other weird thing is that when you get the botox it has a weid popping sound and feeling cause it pops when the niddle goes in to the muscle. and people will think you looked rested they pobley will not notice which is good. it totally works but is not drastic if you have it done right.

Re: Botox?
eyelids are covered by your regular health ins.my mother has irish blood, my wife is cherokee, the drooping eyelid impaires their vision.what they can actually measure it to a certain point, insurance will pay!
avon is wonderful!
but a dancer on these boards turned my onto an eye cream she uses.....going to get product.....AUBERY"lumessence"
it rocks.
the reason i had a neck, face and forehead life at 50, was do to not wanting to stress an older me out being under for 8 hrs.i also had an awful childhood and mentalpause, that showed! i had nothing altered, or added, just me put back.

Re: Botox?
I get botox for migraines. 25-30 injections per visit.
Yes, it hurts. Especially when the doctor tells me to scrunch my forehead for the 5-6 shots between the eyes.
But it does have the added benefit of smoothing out my forehead. Yes, I still have facial expression.

Re: Botox?
The doctor I used to go to for vaccinations is very big into the Botox business now. He's so popular, he even works on weekends!
My manicure works for him part-time doing laser epilation. I have seen Botox work he has done on her and she looked very good with it.
Frankly, I prefer anything that does NOT include having surgery (last time I was in hospital was when I was 7...).
Now that I am forty (2 months already! ..l;,) the typical deep lines on the forehead that run in my father's family are starting to build up. I don't want those. Ugly.
So if I get the money together, I know where to go....
(But first, let me spend a fortune on shopping in NY and Waikiki!!)

Re: Botox?
Not that it is as good as Botox, but I believe Renova is a true wonder cream. Several lines in my face are completely gone and the one between my brows is at 75% of what it was. My derm said that you can use it around your eyes as well (as long as you are very careful). It seems that nowadays they inject a lot less, so the face is a lot more mobile than when it first became popular (cringing at the memory of Nicole Kidman's sinister 2001 rat face).
