Re: Strut your peacock
I was in that dance:) I'm the super-pale one in the middle at the begining.
Besides the shorts and gloves from L-Rose, we made those costumes from scratch!
I have always wanted to fix it so I can wear it to a "normal" restaurant venue sans the feather hat, but just haven't had time yet.
For the tail, we made a 3/4 veil like attachment that was sewn onto the belt.
The appliques were made from cut glitter dot fabric with big blue sequin dots at the "eye" and the same applique, but smaller on the belt and bra. They were outlined with gold sequins. Gold swag beading for fringe and voila...peacock.

Re: Strut your peacock
This is not a good version of this video at all (I have the DVD and I can tell you it's much better than shown here) because the colors aren't coming out well, but this is what I'd call peacock colors.

Re: Strut your peacock
This isn't exactly about peacock feathers but was inspired by peacocks in general so maybe it counts? This is from my collection last year.

Dear Tatood1 -
I am with the other ladies! That peacock feather is the most beautiful tatoo I have ever seen and the only one I've seen that I would even consider for myself. The artist did a magnificent job in every respect, and you have the body for it!

I forgot about this one! It's a tribaret I made for a local dancer. I wish I could get more of this amazing peacock trim I found in a Tokyo craft store.

Re: Strut your peacock
So this is the basic idea of what I want to do. I can't draw to save my life so ignore the horrid sketching. I want the base in black, the hip scarf/belt in emerald green. The rest of course in peacock colors. The little lines all over it are just hits of fringe. Of course, I never end up with what I plan so I am sure it will turn out a bit different. I don't know how to change this in to a actual pic and not just an attachement so sorry about that.
