    Bedleh shopping suggestions

Can anyone suggest some good places to buy a pretty bedleh? I'm thinking of investing in one with a substantial belt so that I can try the super leggy double split skirt Amira Mor look, without flashing too much booty.

Edited to say: I know what I like in terms of full lycra costumes, but I am clueless in terms of choosing bedleh, so any help, or suggestions of nice sets to check out would be appreciated. I'm petite (in terms of height and dress size) but busty, if that helps!

I love Bedlah's, they're so versatile. The come in lots of shapes and styles, so I'd recommend trying on lots of different varieties and see which style works best on you. I'm also fairly petite in terms of height. I have found that I cannot wear anything V shaped (either on the top or bottom of the belt). I need fringe that is relatively short on the belt (no more than 6"). I also do better with bras that have a simple fringe application and not too much of it. I don't know if you live anywhere near a good shop for costumes, but I recommend lots of trying on before you purchase. If that isn't an option, maybe you can try on some different styles that belong to friends. Even if they aren't the right size, you'll get a good idea of what features do and don't work for you. It'll save you alot of money and time.

I only wear bedlahs (I prefer the retro look) and my best suggestion to you is to buy something quality. If you can afford to, the pharonics great loop might be a great place to start. I don't own one (yet!) but I have heard great things about it, and yet to see a picture in which someone looks bad in it.

That's an excellent suggestion. I have also never seen anyone who looks bad in one and they hold their value really well, so selling it down the road should be no problem. I have owned three of them over time. I'm kind of over my great loop obsession and onto Sim bedlahs right now.

Dahlal always has lots more in stock than you see on the site, especially in solid colors.

My advice is to get one in silver or gold. Those are the neutrals in our world (yikes!) and will go with *anything!* Add a fluffy white chiffon skirt one show and a sleek navy trumpet and gauntlets the next and most people won't realize you wore the expensive bit twice!

Remember, of course, that you get what you pay for. My students who've bought the $99 jobs on e-bay have NOT been happy. The fringe falls off and they're not constructed in a way that supports and flatters the body. So buy the best quality you can afford.

It's sad to me that there just aren't as many of these being made as there once were. I'm happy to see more of them at www. bellydancestore.biz these days, hope it's a trend!

another suggestion to look into pharaonics. they're very well made and substantial, which is what you'll want to have if you've got bodacious tatas.

Are they making bra/belt sets again?
Oh, that makes me SO happy! I'll have to go gawk at Dahlal or the Pharonix site!
