    Circlets to wear on forehead?

I'm looking around for a fancy circlet to wear with a costume for a fusion dance. I've looked at some pagan sources but they're either too plain or too goddess themed. I really want something that looks a fancy, rhinestone necklace but to wear on my forehead and of course anchored around my head in my hair. It's got to be flashy to match the very mirrored and coin bra, drape, and belt. Any ideas on converting a necklace to that?

I think you can achieve the effect by threading a ribbon into each of the necklace clasps and tying them together under your hair (probably actually just under your occipital bone, where the back of your head dips a little, and allowing a section of top hair to fall over it).

or sew a pretty necklace onto a thin headband :)
or attach it to a loop of thin metal wire
loads of ways to improvise! ;)

I was looking at this without my reading classes and thought the title was "crickets to wear on forehead." ..l;, And think at the same time "must be another new tribal fusion fad!"

the circlet I'm wearing here: Uncaged Cabaret, a benefit for Jim McDermott was made from a thin headband with elastic fastened from end to end that went under my hair. she attached a big brooch to the center and swagged parts of an old neclace on either side.

the headband wasn't bendable so it was a little uncomfortable to wear (had to wear it pretty snugly so it wouldn't slip) so I'd rest it up on my hairline until I hit the stage. on stage I didn't notice it.

I made a similar circlet a long time ago out of a rhinestone tiara. the center part was only about an inch high so it wasn't too overwhelming. I did the same thing - elastic fastened on the ends to go under my hair. that one was bendy so it was easy to wear.

if I were going to make one for myself, I'd either put elastic on a necklace, or make a thin headband out of grosgrain ribbon and elastic and attach a necklace to that.

Sometimes in those cheapy jewelry stores that kids like to frequent (here it's Claire's) they have elastic rhinestone chokers that could probably be used as a circlet. Either that or you could go to a fabric store, get a thin sequined trim with elastic and just sew the ends together.

Vintage rhinestone necklaces work really well for this and can easily be pinned under the hair. I have some on the retail swap meet, or you can go to a thrift store or eBay to find one.

Today I just saw some rhinestone on material for trimming dresses that you can sew on the dress. If you get about a few inches of this, you can sew the two ends together and with the elastic you can pin it on around your head to get the same effect.

You should post a picture when you decide on something. That sounds like a really pretty idea.
