I think my personal favorite part of that one is the curve of the upper part of her butt cheek that you can see.

And just where is her butt crack? I would have at least 3 inches of the great divide showing with a belt at that level!!!

Yeah, actually, I considered not putting that one but love the fringe colors with the little pearly ends, there was a front view of this dancer on the same page and she was completely topless. This was off a page of military history about American troupes in Turkey. Apparently the belly dancers used to strip for the servicemen, I think this would have been in the 1960s in Turkey? While we are on the subject of scantily clad belly dancers...My imagination has previously been a little disturbed at the prospect of somebody performing bra-less, then I ran across this video clip of a belly dancer from the 1950s who is performing in pasties, and well, it wasn't as horrifying as I thought. I guess it is all in how you dance when you are unsupported. In fact there were things I really liked about her dancing, in it's style, and I thought I might as well share it, in case y'all haven't seen it yet:

Yes, that's darling Nejla. These Life photos are amazing. I've never seen any of them except that one of Kawakib (not Anthea).
