Suggestions for lining this skirt?
I need help for suggestions for lining this skirt, I got here on Bhuz. It is great, but you can see right through it. Ha! ..g.:
Just an example you can see my panties right through and just to give a climpse of what kind of material I am working with here.

Re: Suggestions for lining this skirt?
Can you make a white or nude lycra slip in the same trumpet shape? I wouldn't try to attach it to the hem--just let it float underneath. If the audience can see the slip when you spin, they'll assume it's opaque at the top, and you can wear nude undergarments to get rid of the VPL problem in the photo. If you want, you can decorate the hem of the slip to make it look more like part of the costume.

Re: Suggestions for lining this skirt?
I would probably just wear flesh coloured underwear with it. . .
The other option, which was done with my Abla lace trumpet skirt, is to make a mini out of flesh coloured lycra which lines the inside of the skirt. Doesn't add as much bulk.

Re: Suggestions for lining this skirt?
If you are going to go with the shorter lining, I would make the hem stop at the points of the black gores. I can understand what Tahiradancer is saying about cutting down bulk, but the reason I didn't suggest the shorter lining in my earlier post is that I wonder how it would look under stage lighting. Will it create a weird visible line where you can see through the skirt halfway down when bright lights are shining? Maybe this isn't an issue for you, depending on where you dance.

Furthermore, with a mini, my legs would probably ride it up on the sides. The lighting sure does show everything! If it was outside it would be different, but I dance on a stage and of course have pictures done that show even more.
But, I would wear nude panties, I just wore the pink so you could see how it is sheer. I even think with nude panties it would still show without a liner.
And I thought my white nursing school uniform was bad.
It will look nice with white under, I think that it would bring out the sparkly silver more.

I have had pretty good luck with those little half slips that you get at target or a deparment store. They usually come in a variety of lengths and in a nude color.
