Re: Yes, I washed my beaded costume in the washer!
I've actually washed ballet slippers. The innersoles came partially detached, but that wasn't a big deal. The worst part was that the suede bottoms squeaked for weeks on the wood floor of the studio. If you wash suede-soled ballet shoes, take them for a walk around the driveway or get out the suede brush and rough them up before wearing them again!

Re: Yes, I washed my beaded costume in the washer!
Hi, I washed a vintage Madame Abla in the washer with regular detergent on gentle hand wash in a pillow case and it came out so beautiful and white. Thought it was an off white/ivory and it just sparkles! I thought I was going to have to replace the large crystals but they cleaned up like new. I put the costume on a towel and then set an electric fan on it. Also wash a Mousa and it came out great. Cups stayed hard and did not lose their shape. Only recommendation is wash a wristlett or small piece of the costume first and see what happens.

My Ballgown designer (Dore) told me to do this to my gown. in a protective bag, a little Tide, and gentlest setting. Swarovski's should be fine. (Cheaper ones won't be able to take as many washings.)

Re: Yes, I washed my beaded costume in the washer!
I guess you could say I "hand washed" two beaded bedlah in the washing machine. I used the soak only setting and liquid Castile soap (much milder than regular detergents). I just swished them around and let them soak for about 10 min. Dried on towels. They look much better, brighter and shinier. It didn't totally clean the lining on one set, which was pretty bad. I might do it again or just touch up the lining. These are sets I plan to sell for cheap.
