I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
Hi guys, the thread about HIP being on sale got me excited about buying some new colors. My mom is also taking me to MAC for my b-day.
Right now, I pretty much do the standard purple for performing and night life and brown for other times. Most of the time, I do not wear make-up at all.
So what other colors should I try? Black makes me look like I have, well, a black eye.
Here are some pictures:

Re: I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
The purple duo (charisma) would bring out the green in your eyes, and I think "cheeky", and "playful" would too (both of these are similar in color, but one's a frost, and the other is a matte).
I have the same color eyes as yours, only I have black hair.
I haven't tried the purple on yet, my niece helped me pick out the colors.
I've heard Walgreen's will take back colors you're not happy with (I'd ask the clerk about this).

Re: I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
I'm pretty sure I already have something close to charisma. I'm looking to branch out from purple. Thanks though.

What about coppers? Or grays?
I'd probably let MAC try different looks on me.

Re: I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
I second (or third) going to MAC or to other places where you get to mess around with the make-up. After going to MAC and checking out all the colors, I am experimenting as well. I am also a "purple and brown" girl and went back to trying greens (olives/avocado tones) and silvers/greys. Have fun!
P.S. Don't forget to apply for a MAC card if you don't have one.....g.:

My favorite eye shadow is a combination of two Mac colors. I use Corduroy as a base and put Tempting on top of it. I find it works with all my costumes. For Raks Sharqi I add Eye Candy.

Re: I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
Tarte makes fantastic colors that stay on forever (but are easy to wash off, somehow). Their pigments are very intense, and every palette I've bought from them has a great selection--variety, but everything can go together. I got a big palette box with eyeshadow, lip glosses and blushes/bronzers for Christmas from them...it even has a mirror, so it's fantastic to take along for gigs or photoshoots. Plus, it's purple & gold snakeskin print! It might have been a limited edition, but you can get an idea of other sets they have

Re: I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
I am noticing a lot of palettes with aquas/turquoise/vivid blues. I bet that would look very pretty on you for performance.
Here is a link to one I noticed at Sephora,
Sephora: Sephora Brand Calypso Soul Eyeshadow Palette
Also, you can get great, great deals at this site,

I'm thinking you can wear all the colors I can't. Pinks, teals, aqua, seafoam type colors, corals. Pearlized mostly with some matte but your skin is very luminescent and you should play up that aspect.

Re: I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
I use Mac,Nars,Urban Decay eye shadows. Eye Kandy when I perform. I usually wear any shade of purple, silver, greys, & champagne colors. I think I got about every color to match my clothes and dance costumes. Loreal HIP I will have to buy a duo to see if I like them.

Oh I love MAC eye shadow! For years I've been using a color called "Wedge" because it is a neutral color - sort of a light brown that you can use either as a shadow or a contour over the lid area. I usually wear it for everyday if I want to look natural without going natural. I think just about anybody can wear it too as it is a color that is pretty adaptable to just about everybody's coloring.

Did you see the thread about the pro pallet 120? (Panacea on Youtube used it.) For $25 you can experiement with all kinds of great exciting colors. They wear great, are mac-like. I love mine. I have your coloring, part of the time, when I'm blonde, I use all the turquoisey hues a lot.

Re: I'm tired of my eyeshadow colors
dude. I was going to suggest playing with a green eye and a silver eye. :) my green eye is based on MAC "swimming" (frost grass green) - or "bitter" for when I'm feeling a little wild (it's a matte acid lime). my silver is based on "electra". note that I have warm undertone skin - I can't tell from your pic if your skin is warm or cool.
you could also rev up your purple eye by trying a new shade - take a look at "beautiful iris." we use that as a troupe color and it looks great on everybody, asian, persian, pale, warm or cool. you could try adding a metallic bronze to your browns.
maybe try a blue or peacock eye? "surreal" is my go-to color that I use the most.
once you've got all that, mix it up! try green with purple, or green with bronze.
oh, one more idea - have you ever experimented with non-dark liner? I love to use a champagne colored liquid liner, or the frosty white fluidline. I have a bright orangey glittery liquid liner from the hello kitty collection. bright green or turquoise could be awesome, too (try it on the inner upper corner and the lower outer corner for a flash of color with a darker, smokey eye).
have fun!
