another take on the snake...costume that is
Found this on the bellydance store website today. I can get on board with this design. I love the way the snake is flat, not 3-d ( a big downfall on the other snake costume from the bd store in a recent thread). I especially like the rear snake that coils around the body's curves. The tummy connector snake is a bit chubby but...maybe it just ate a raqs beaver or belly bunny or something.
I could never do the light beige color, I'd prefer a different base color for the costume if I ever bought one like it, but I like this design. Caveat: would remove the flickering red snake tongue that appears to be ready to lick the model's bosoms. .w.:
Weigh in people.

Hmmm...it's not as "my eyes! my eyes!" to me as the other but I still don't love it. I don't mind the skirt snake but I don't like the torso snake, as it just sort of hangs there...right in the middle of the nether-regions. Perhaps you are correct though, a differently colored costume might make it all better.

To paraphrase the words of the wise Samuel L. Jackson:
"I've had it with these mothaf*ckin' snakes on these mothaf*ckin'....costumes!!!!"

Why are the snakes always flesh-colored? They always look like phallic symbols to me. Stretched out, elongated, flaccid phallic symbols....w.:

I don't know if I would buy it, even if I had money... It has a bit of Carnival flavour...

Re: another take on the snake...costume that is
I'm not thrilled with the construction on the snake detail - it seems to get more and less wide at certain points, which makes me think of a snake that's just eaten dinner. ..c:: And the edges of the snake look wonky to me, like they don't quite lay flat. I'm puzzled by the random segment o' snake on the right bra cup, too.
I like Jillina's pink snake costume much better than this one.

Hate the snake! I have yet to see a costume with a snake on it that I would be willing to wear. I don't even like the snake print fabric that I've seen costumes made out of.

They have a snake costume right now (at least it strikes me as a snake. . . cant see its head in the pics though) that I totally LOVE (and would totally buy if I had money to blow right now):

The only Snakes on a Plane costume I've recently LOVED was an emerald green Eman for sale at Diana Tarkhan's workshop in Manhattan. You really couldn't tell it was a snake unless you looked at it up close, and the snake was covered with bright green jewels.
It almost looked like a Pharaonics Spiraling Jewels that, on second glance, happened to also be snaky.

now that one i don't mind as much because it's not as blatant as the other. but i don't like where the snake's head is....c::
and shahla, i don't usually like snake print either..or lizard print for that matter. it always reminds me of those movies where they have a rich pimp or gangster with their alligator/snake/lizard print or whatnot shoes and whatnot..haha

I am not into animals, reptiles, monkeys etc. And for the price... that is ridiculous, IMO.

I can't get my picture to upload. I wanted to share my snake goddess costume I just made. You can go to my flikr site and see it, I guess. Wierd, it shows up as a video-but if you click on it, you can see the costume.

Latriamou, how did you get it to post like that? Here's kind of a close up.

Re: another take on the snake...costume that is
the bronze one is amazing.
the beige one - uhm it looks like the wearer hunted the snake down, killed it and attached it to the costume as a trophy.. or sacrifice to the goddess.
Seriously, why attach a snake to the costume and not let it sensually snug around the wearer?

Re: another take on the snake...costume that is
Hmmmm, nope - I don't like it.
I think I've decided that I don't like snakes ON a costume. Or any kind of identifiable picture on a costume (if you know what I mean). But I still desperately, desperately want a snakeskin print costume. Because I am tacky.
