Bra Strap Placement for best support?
I am working on fixing my bra to fit me best... is there a general rule about where to attach the strap to the top of the bra? I have full C's which need to be hiked up, and the bra is a little shallow. There are 2 sets of straps. What is the best place to attach? Near the outer edge or closer in?thanks so much! Not a seamstress, but bellydancing is making me one, just a little bit!
Oh, yes, right now the straps are attached to the back of the bra and it is making it hike up the back center of the bra. I want the other set of straps to be halter.

Attaching closer to the outer edge makes the cups a little deeper usually. Attaching closer to the center brings the cups flatter against the body. So closer to the outer edge might work better in your case.
How the side straps and center attachment are put on can be a factor, too. It's a good idea to put the bra on, without the straps, and try grabbing and pulling upward on various spots along the cup and see what happens.
The best way to get support from a halter, in my opinion, is to add two narrow straps going down from the back of the halter to the back strap. Noussa makes a lot of hers that way, if you search Bhuz for Noussa I'm sure you can find an example.

Have you tried squishing the cups together (one at a time) you can get more depth that way sometimes if the wire under the cups is substantial enough to hold the new shape.

Re: Bra Strap Placement for best support?
I attach the straps to the back first, or attach them together if it is to be a halter, then put the bra on and pin the straps in different positions to see which works best.
If the back is hiking up, it means the band is too large, like a lingerie bra, the bra should hold itself in position strapless (more or less, although heavy beading might compromise this) if it fits right, so the band takes as much of the weight as possible, not the shoulders.
