Re: hipscarves
Are you looking to wear it on your hips or around your torso or both or something else entirely? Have you tried tying it only once around the hips, then tucking the remainder, so there is no floppy part? Or pinning it instead of tying it?

Re: hipscarves
If you have two smaller hip scarves, you can put one in front and one in back and tie at both sides. That way you have flippy pieces on both hips. ,r:;

round the hips. How does one go about pinning it? Dumb sounding I know, But I had thought of that but was afraid it would tear. I do like the way it looks.
I also like the idea of wearing two.

Re: hipscarves
you could wrap the scarf around your hips but not tie it. pin the two ends together, letting the ends just hang loose. it's hard to explain but the effect is kind of like a mini skirt.

Re: hipscarves
Pins can tear chiffon and lace hipscarves, if the pin is under a lot of pressure.
Sometimes sandwiching the chiffon in between two little pieces of grosgrain ribbon will take the pressure off the chiffon. Also, using more, smaller pins helps because there's less pressure at each pinpoint and each pinhole is smaller.
Stitch grosgrain ribbon into a small tube, then stuff the ends of the scarf or scarves through the tube. Pin the scarves in place in the tube with safety pins, then wrap the mess with a pretty ribbon and tie it, or hide it under a large decorative pin.
You can also layer hipscarves. Like a big triangular one with trim at the edge only, under a rectangular one loaded with coins.

Re: hipscarves
When I've pinned mine, I pin them to whatever I am wearing under it~ the skirt, the pants, whatever. If it's pinned to the underoos as well, nothing shifts about (meaning you won't walk off stage with the front behind you). ,r:;
Drape the scarf around the bum, and then pin the 'ties' to the waistband, usually off-center, closer to the hip. I'm terrible at describing so I'll try to take a pic this evening.
