Thread: Cut into a beaded crochet dress?

Someone gave me one of those beautiful crochet beaded dresses. The quality seems very good but the dress is cut straight across at the hem, it's not in two points like many of those dresses are. It could definitely benefit from a slit on one side, it would give it more movement, I think.

Would you dare to cut into a dress like that? I thought maybe some sort of iron-on fusible web stuff behind the cutting line might help. What do you all think? Posssibility or disaster waiting to happen?

Unless there is a seam...dont...really - dont and this is coming from someone who will cut into most anything!

I strongly advise against cutting something crocheted. No amount of fray-check will save it.

I guess I knew that was probably going to be the answer. Oh well.
