Thread: can you dye synthetic hair extensions?

Am wanting to find some bun style hair extensions..the plan is to pull my hair into a ponytail and then add a clip on for long ponytail, then use the bun style clip ons to add height at the top (to put flowers, tiara, etc)

but it's impossible (so far) to find clip ons that match..they are either too red or too brown and they don't have the blond highlights that my natural hair does

what would you guys suggest? maybe getting a clip on in a close enough color and then putting small wefts of blond hair mixed in?

it's just for photos right now but I've noticed if i dont match up the colors well enough it does show up in photos as ombre head

Try finding something with human hair. I'm always changing my hair color and finding a piece to match has been a challenge. I don't think you can dye synthetic. I've had human hair dyed a few times and my stylist who specializes in hair pieces etc. swore he'll never do it again, it's just a pain. Dying to match my base color wasn't a problem, it was adding the matching hilights that caused such a problem.

Most synthetic extensions can not be dyed. I'd recommend not to dye any synthetic extensions. You can dye human hair extensions though.
