    sweating in costumes????

Hi----i got and imitation Bella and there is very little lining in either the bra or belt or straps. Does anyone still put plastic covered w/ flannel as an inside lining to keep the sweat from ruining the sequins? like from a mattress cover or baby pad? i know it's hot but i want to keep the costume good for quite a while.

I would find some kind of lining or insulation. Plastic covered with flannel should absorb the sweat just fine.

i had a costume once lined with plastic. it was the most annoying thing in the world. it made me hot sticky and crinkly. no fun.

i relined it with felt, super heavy duty stuff and then a cotton sheet type material to cover the felt and have never had any problems since.

I line my costumes with fabric from old tee shirts. They absorb well, dry fairly quickly and don't add a lot of bulk. Plus, tee shirts are easy to find second hand, cheap and come in a lot f different colours.

And because they are cheap, as mentioned above, you don't feel guilty about changing the lining regularly.
