After months of sleeping in its box, I finally got the leopard project out for some progress, b/c I found those cool acrylic stones with LEOPARD PRINT! Ahhhhhhh!

So I started working a little on it, but then I found out that my dear friend Lubna's bithday is coming in twenty days so... my goal is to try finishing her silver bedlah in time for her B day: brazilian style 2 pces belt covered with sequins and beads, the bra is practicly done, it's coming!

Just got booked to do a fusion dance at Tiki Oasis with my friend Genevieve. So will be scouring the remnants piles asap for aloha print lycra for 2 skirts and maybe some arm bands, headbands, etc if time allows. Due to time constraints we will build the costumes off existing gold bras and belts. I hope we can find some good silk tropical flowers too. will post pics of this rapid duet costuming soon i hope.

maybe instead of multiple loops, perhaps just one large loop on each side, and dangly fringe in the middle of the bra.. if that makes sense...

I think it looks great the way it is though!!!!

I am still working on my coin costume. I am actually sewing the lining of the bra in right now. Here are some pics I took yesterday...I actually moved the top coins up a bit closer to the cord and added a couple extra small ones...I still have to add some coins to the straps...and the chain drape and danglies....it weighs a ton....but for my first costume..I am very pleased with it.

Holy Buckets shimmy goddess! It looks fabulous. I think your choice of fabric underlying the coins is PERFECT!

Thanks...whats funny is..the whole time while I was making it...I was thinking I didnt like the fabric anymore...but now that it is done..I love it! .I finished adding the coins to the other strap..and just finished the lining..I need to have my hubby drill an extra hole in some coins..so I can stitch both the top and bottom to the neck strap...then hooks....yea!!! then I will make the chain drape..I am going to make it removable though...

It's a basic gathering technique. The hardest part is making sure everything is scrunched to the same length. How to Gather Fabric into Ruffles: 8 steps (with pictures) - wikiHow

I love your coin costume and can't wait to see it in action. What a way to reuse materials (aka money)!

BTW...glue. Use fabric glue to seal the edges of your cord, now that it is sewn. I meant to comment on FB, but forgot.

IMHO, metal chain drape is darned heavy, and you've mentioned your top is already heavy. Now that I've put it on mine (see above a few posts), I'm thinking of removing it or changing it. ... However ... Can it get more gorgeous? Keep us posted!

Would fraycheck work on that cord? It dries soft.

I got a regular bra at Target. It just says self expressions. I reinforced the hell out of it. I used an old pair of jeans for the center piece and straps....buckram strips all in the side...it is really sturdy. It already weighs so much...the chain drape will seem light...LOL

I will make it removable though

Bumbed, they don't come in my size, especially that I need a cup size up just for all the trimmings. Unless I go to the store itself and check. But, I doubt it, sigh...
