Thread: Dance briefs & chunky legs

Hopefully a fellow genetically predisposed chunky thighed (of the non-muscular variety) dancer can answer this for me.

Boy cut dance briefs: Do they inch or roll up while dancing? Or worse, give you sausage legs? I'm torn between regular dance briefs and boy cut dance briefs/shorts.

I think it depends on the material.. I found capezio (I believe they are spandex with heavy duty elastic) gave me hardcore sausage, but didn't ride up. However if there is an american apparel store near you, I would suggest going there and trying on the vast selection.. I found some really good cotton ones ( super comfy, no sausage!!).. and they come in just about any color, including gold and silver lame.

Cotton doesn't on me. I haven't tried the polyester material though.

I wear dance tights under mine, so I think it prevents it from moving around. I have to wear the dance tights, because I am usually changing from Oriental to Ballet in a quick of a wink.

thanks ladies. not a lot here in the way of dancewear here (that isn't geared towards young girls). think i'll check out exercise wear though, bike shorts & such.

I have tree trunk legs and the L*rose stretch velvet boy shorts rolled up on me all the time so it looked like I was wearing underwear at the end of a dance. It was a troupe costume and we also wore fishnets under the shorts. I had to sew mine down.
