Make Up Lighting
So I've done a bit of googling up regarding lighting for make up application, found some nice advice here and here(last comment) but I would like to hear some first hand dancers experiences as well. Did you invest in some sort of special lighting for your home? Was it easy to install? Are there any reasonable portable solutions? I try to do my make up at home, but it's not always possible.
Please share your tips!

Re: Make Up Lighting
I referenced the first article you mentioned on page 3 of the PDF Booklet to the Makeup DVD.
All of my burley troupe mates use those small vintage mirrors with lights down the sides backstage for their makeup application.

Vintage mirrors sounds fun! I also saw someone mentioning Babyliss mirror BaByliss Pure Reflection Designer Mirror - Boots but it costs around $90 in Israel. I think it's too much for a mirror :) I might wait till my next visit to the UK and purchase one there.

Re: Make Up Lighting
I use a "vintage" make-up mirror that I got on e-bay 2nd hand. Lights down each side and central mirror flips from regular to magnifying. Hinged side panels that close up when I need to pack it in my bag. It has filtered settings for daylight, "home" light, office, evening. I use the "daylight" setting because it's the most starkly revealing and whatever I do just looks improved under more flattering lighting.

I love those mirrors! I wish I could have kept my mom's. I used to just stare at myself in the different light settings. One of them was totally GREEN.

I'm so glad I asked here! I looked up those vintage mirrors on ebay, so cool! And the prices are reasonable.
