first ever (I think) Interchangeable silk dance fans

I experimented over the weekend and am very pleased with my pair. If you wish to change out the silk and keep the base, I recommend sewing a thick ribbon on to the edge of the silk hem and placing the velcro on the ribbon .

Will have more photo examples soon but you can use a gold fan base for Sunrise Merkaba, Gold Merkaba, Anasazi Gold, Wine Merk, etc

use a purple base for Temple peacock, Prozac, etc

I bought the large chinese 'mulan' fans from Meleea at www.beledi.com to practice and it worked..

    more details here

The Morning Bleat: how to assemble silk fan veils..Interchangeable fans!!

will be listing veils shortly..I have a few colors ready to go

hi Mahsati! I got your blog comment but there was no email address attached to it..I'll be listing some pretty quick here as soon as I stuff down a burrito ..l;,

I put your link to your dvds and Faye's link in there as well..along with Meleea's. I can vouch for quality and customer service on all three :)

Now that I have a pair I can watch your dvd again :)

Re: first ever (I think) Interchangeable silk dance fans

I like the chinese dance fans..they are bigger so they fit well with the 36 inch wide silk..I think they are large enough to use single handed..which is about as coordinated as I can handle right now..it's like learning double veil, you have to teach your hands what to do. I drop them a lot lol.

The fabric that the dance fans is made of is not silk but a tougher fabric, Meleea mentioned to me they can be dyed but I have not tried it. The staves are acrylic so they won't dye.

Love the acrylic staves too, with bamboo I always felt like they might snap like toothpicks (well I'm kinda rough on things) but the acrylic seems strong.
