Product Review: Bare Minerals Refillable Buffing Brush

    http://sephora.com/browse/product.jh...egoryId=C16510

I have been a diehard Bare Minerals fan for over five years now. I love their products and can't recommend them enough. With the exception of mascara and lipstick, it's the only brand I wear. I was really excited to try this brush, because it'd be nice to be able to streamline a bit while applying my makeup, and skip the hassle of having to open the minerals jar. I especially like that this brush (as opposed to other brands' refillable brushes) has a magnetic brush head that separates from the handle for easy cleaning.

I read the user reviews on Sephora before buying, and was wary because it seems like half the people love it, and half the people hate it because they can't get it to work. I put my Mineral Veil into it and hoped for the best.

...And it didn’t work. :( I couldn’t get the Mineral Veil to come out of it. I saw some come out at first--there was definitely a cloud of Veil coming out of the brush--but it stopped working just as quickly. I don’t know if that little pipe that the minerals go through got clogged or what.

Additionally, the brush felt kind of sparse, too. It doesn't feel plush and thick like their full coverage face or kabuki. I am so disappointed. I didn’t want to have to return this! Sigh…

On a sort of related note, the associate in the BE boutique tried to sell me one of their eye Quads when I was buying this… I asked her how you keep the minerals from making a mess in that little holder thingy that they come in, and she was straight up with me and said that it is messy. Too bad.

It looks like BE is trying to make developments in the portability of their products, but just failing so hard! :(

This is the same brush that the sunscreen comes in. I can see a little come out on my hand but can't get any on my face unless I literally beat myself with the brush.

Darn! I had hoped this would turn out to be a good thing. I just hadn't made it over to buy one yet... guess I won't bother. :(
