In the off chance someone finds this useful in making a costume or some other project, heres a video on how to do Turkish Beaded Crochet.

Oh, to return to the days before children, for a day, when I had the time and patience for crafts; I'd be all over this!

If I didn't have to work full time, I'd love to make my own costume with something like this!

Oh the patience needed to complete a project like this. Congratulations to anyone who tries and succeeds.
And here i thought that just stringing beads for fringe was a pain in the butt....

Yes. I don't have the patience for any of it any longer.
This looked to me like it might be easier to make the design with this method, then sew the whole resulting piece onto cloth, instead of sewing the beads into the designs as you go. This might be a boon for those who can't use loose beads in every situation. Crochet the design ahead of time, when you can deal with the loose beads. The piece of crochet might be easier to handle once the kids get home or if time dictates that you must take the work with you outside the home.
Of course, the crochet thread will show in the work, unlike how you can hide the thread with beaded embroidery, but maybe some shiny pretty thread is available that's fine enough to string the beads on.

Wow. Since she is working in the round she creates a tubular beaded motif. That might be a nice accent to work in with flat crocheted appliques to match. There is a metallic thread that looks good when crocheted. I have found gold, silver, red and green. I have seen finished projects with copper, but the lady would not share her source.
