    Suggestions for costume

We are doing a choreographed number to "Buttons" by the Pussycat Dolls and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a cute, sexy, sultry, sassy look that we could put together. I have seen this number performed by the choreographer and she wore a short little flowing skirt with those tighter pants that came below the knee on under it, a little sexy formed top and a vest that she removed part way through the number. Cute, cute, cute - but I would like more bling. There are only two of us performing - I've got a couple of ideas rolling around in my head but I'd like to see what bhuz members might suggest. You know, sometimes, a few heads are better than just one!!!! And, mine doesn't always work right!!!!! lol

Is this for a Halloween hafla or a burlesque performance? If it's for Halloween, I would definitely go with a more comical effect (e.g., lots of large buttons or something that riffs on the idea of Bratz dolls), so there wasn't any confusion as to why you were using this song. If it's for burlesque, then obviously you'd want something with more of a pin-up girl or stripper look--basically what the Pussycat Dolls themselves wear.

I would suggest you give a peek over at what a group here wears for their tribal fusion stuff: ::♫♥★★Kashmir Dance Company©★★♥♫:: Photo Album - tribe.net

Their most recent stuff (6-5-09) shows that they have kind of a funky burlesque circus sort of feel going on. I love the Kashmir ladies, and used to take their classes, so I have much love for them!

This is for a performance that we are doing in mid-September. I would love to do it at the Spring recital but I am not sure if the choreographer and her group were present at this recital as I never got to see most of the show and I'm still waiting on the DVD (since March - a long time just like last year's production - took forever to get it!!). I like the look of the Pussycat Dolls and may try to go with that look - I'll let you know what I end up doing. And, I like the Halloween suggestion as we often perform at an event then. Thanks, everyone!
