Thread: Blondes: What color for a fake ponytail?

I am thinking about buying a nice long clip in ponytail but don't know how to choose a color. Like lots of blondes, I am much lighter on my top and ends and the underneath of my hair, near my scalp, is very dark blonde/light brunette. Do I match the ponytail to my lighter hair, or my base hair? I can't seem to find a blend of darker underneath light. Does anyone have a good resource where to purchase one?

I find that a pony that is mixed colors blends a lot better -- mine works great with a golden blonde with lighter highlights.

My favorite, favorite pony has lighter tips -- just like my real hair! It's by European Naturals and the color is '613E' it's golden blonde with lighter highlights and blends toward a very light blonde at the tips.

I can't find a pic of that style (and the lighter tips are kind of rare) but this kind of mix works pretty well for me, especially if I wear a wide headband to separate the bangs from the pony.
