Your all barking up the wrong tree, I'm afraid. I've just watched on a high res, very large screen and then frozen it and blown it up. It's shadow and there's a definite knicker line at her inner thigh. Flesh coloured panties. So, much hoo hah over a misconstrued hoo hah. Did we all honestly think a dancer of this calibre and experience and of her ethnic background, would even think of flashing her minge to all and sundry? But hey, the thread has made for some good reading...

We were talking about this on Tribe. I thought that maybe she'd forgotten her underpants on accident or something. I could totally see changing costumes and finding out you have the wrong underwear (like black ones or red ones or something) and thus having to go with out. It can happen. Ansuya was telling us once that she had forgotten her bra padding for her bedlah that keeps her girls in place. Show time was nearly upon her and she was panicked and had to make use of what was available to her..which was pita bread from the snack table. She stuffed her bra top with pita bread. ..l;,

This thread is interesting to read because I remember not too long ago there was a discussion on the nude colored undergarment issue which entailed whether it was better to wear nude colored panties or like skirt colored panties. I guess we all know the answer now. Like skirt colored panties - because nude color panties are just to scandalous to wear, LOL!

Definitely wear skirt colored panties.

Heck, the logic applies to everything else. Latin, ballroom..they wear matching undergarments to their skirts. Gymnastics, cheerleaders, jazz dancers seem to wear coordinated, matching under garments to.

I would never want my video online with a debate on whether or not I was wearing knickers. ..l;,

About Ansuya's bra stuffing - She said as she was on stage and getting warmer from sweating and being under the stage lights all she could smell was the warm bread in her bra..LOL

It probably wasn't questionable to the live audience. Not everyone performs thinking their every move will be dissected round the globe.

They should, especially if they are known around the world. Dancers, especially bellydancers (because we are, of course, strippers according to the world's standards), are taught to take all costuming considerations in mind, and the possibility of even a perception of this has to be prevented. I do believe this is a concept taught in Costuming 101.

One time a gal from a dance troupe in our area was performing - outdoors - big gust of wind came and lifted her big circle skirt into her face and WHOA - you seen it ALL...whole enchilada! And the hedges hadn't been trimmed in years. doh!
