my experience with laser lipo
The Morning Bleat: more skin talk
First of all I am still pretty sedated so my thinking is not clear yet.
Secondly I have no interest in discussing the rights and wrongs of doing lipo or any other cosmetic surgery procedure. I believe we are all free to make our own choices and this was my decision. If you don't like it or believe it is ok to do it, then don't read about the experience, that is fine. We are all entitled to our experiences and opinions.
Third, I do not write this to condone or encourage others to have any form of plastic surgery done. Go back and read that sentence a few times.
It's also worth mentioning I am on narcotics now for pain and they tend to make me pretty bitchy. So those who want to debate the rights and wrongs, save your comments till my head is clear.

Re: my experience with laser lipo
Okay, I'd like to know what the laser was that they used. Did it hurt or where you sedated? What is the recovery process? Was it just one area that you did?

Re: my experience with laser lipo
Not sure about the laser but the tool was tiny, very small cannula. Very little pain, just the shots stung but I only felt pressure , an occasional pinch but it was easy compared to wisdom teeth removal. I was sedated but awake, I could talk to the scrub techs easily. Yes, just one area, lower abdomen. The pouch ..g.:
Recovery so far: am swollen and bruised, am still sedated , won't drive car. Feel fine..sitting and walking is easy but bending or doing anything that requires more stomach muscle hurts a little but is not unbearable at all. I have lack of sleep since i napped yesterday and stayed up late..then woke at 2am and couldnt get back to sleep. Will do some walking today and take it easy. Many people go back to work the next day. I feel ok to do light housework kind of stuff.

Re: my experience with laser lipo
So is the laser just on the outside of the skin, how does this work?

Re: my experience with laser lipo
Hi, I'm not new to the site. I lurk a lot but never post. I am considering Smart Lipo to add shape, definition to the waist area, because I am pretty straight up and down very little difference between hip and waist. Are you seeing a difference yet?

Re: my experience with laser lipo
yes, Dr Ching was my doctor
I don't have before and after photos but the doc will..not too sure if they would be suitable to share lol
Yes I see results already...that poochy pouch bump is gone. the swelling will persist for a while so I'm not sure what it will look like when the swelling is gone but so far i'm happy with the kanga-pouch being gone. today i'm already much less swollen from yesterday

Re: my experience with laser lipo
After watching the video, Dr. Ching is kinda cute, and so young looking. I thought it was laser over the skin not sticking it underneath the skin. Interesting.

Re: my experience with laser lipo
I could not see much difference in the woman on the video (there are before and after pics on the newchannels website). To me she looked pretty slim "before" and "after" Did yours make a bigger impact Jes ?

Re: my experience with laser lipo
Man, I'd love to have the money to be able to do this. I'd like to have lipo done on my arms but I think I have too much fat for the laser. :(
Seeing the laser under the skin kinda weirds me out though. It's like there's a rave in your tummy!
I agree with you, I had a hard time seeing the difference on those photos.Last edited by h3llc4t; 09-10-2009 at 07:57 AM.

Re: my experience with laser lipo
lol a tummy rave..that's kinda cool
am feeling even better today, no pain pills. i like wearing the compression garment it gives support. I go in for a followup today.
Yes Caroline i saw a noticeable difference right away. Before laser it looked like i was 4 months pregnant with a volleyball. My tummy is now flat again, the bulge is gone. I must emphasize that it is still swollen but I have hardly any bruising and am drinking a lot of water (and walking). I have to take a little bit of care to stand up or roll over in bed but walking feels good. I would surf if he'd clear it but stitch has to dissolve first.
The compression garment helps to reduce the swelling. You have to be really good about wearing it
I recommend taking it off if you need to go number two. ..l;,

Hmm...now if only they had a full body version of that! The light under the skin was a little freaky.

Re: my experience with laser lipo
Question for you... what exactly happens to the fat?
A friend was going to get lipodissolve but decided not too because no one could answer the question of where the fat actually goes once it dissolves (as fat cant be filtered out by the kidneys).
So curious to know more about this style of procedure. (And thanks for sharing your expereinces!)

Re: my experience with laser lipo
it burns in fat hell where it belongs !!
I saw a container holding some pinkish fluid and I assume that was the fat it collected. Was too sleepy to ask him today but I follow up again in a few weeks and will ask him what happens to the fat (and if he has a display case) lol

Re: my experience with laser lipo
Well pinkish because some blood goes with it.. at least in the regular procedure.. my connection is so slow, so my question is probably answered in the video but I can't watch it.
what does a laser do in the procedure?
The regular one (from my layperson knowledge) means cutting a hole in the skin and "vacuum" fat out with cannulae. What does the laser do? Sorry if it's a silly question.
You said you were glad you went for this method. Does it heal better or was it "softer" in some respect? Less of side effects?
