Thread: a different toenail issue

Is it better to cover a big toe with a band-aid, or polish the toenail when it is cracked and broken obviously painfully low? This is for a close-contact performance. None of my dance shoes cover my toes.

I'm thinking polishing it will be less obvious, but I don't want to gross anyone out.

Maybe you could buy the translucent band-aids and paint over it and on the nail part?

i'd suggest getting some ballet shoes. bandaid inside. safest for your feet. if the nail is cracked, dancing barefoot could lead to infection. better safe then sorry...

this will work for your gig, but it's best to take it off afterward

take a tea bag, dump out the tea, and cut out the paper into the shape of your nail. Put a layer of clear on, quickly press the paper on, then another layer of clear to seal. This will give the illusion of an unbroken toenail, and you can't paint your regular polish over it--it also helps prevent accidentally tearing it off (ow!)
