Latisse? Eyelash growth
Anyone have any experience with Latisse? I have a friend who uses it-I thought she had on false eyelashes, her top lashes were soooooo long. She also said that she used it onher eyebrows and it filled in bald patches.
I'd like to hear about anyone else who has used it.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I haven't used Latisse because of the possible side effect of turning blue or green eyes brown (rare, but possible). But I have had wonderful results with both RevitaLash and Enormous Lash. So there's obviously merit to these products.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I only got as far as googling the cost: $100 per month! And if you stop using it, lashes return to their normal length within one growth cycle, which is only 1-2 months.

My friend Nora did some guest reviews of Lilash on my blog, if that interests you. Scroll down a couple of posts to read her initial thoughts and then her follow-up four weeks later.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I think I would lose my identity if my eyes were not longer green.
I don't mind that the effect isn't permanent. I don't mind the cost. I just wanted to hear about side effects and how well it works.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I'm using it and it works! My doctor uses it, her office staff uses it and, like I said, it works.
My doctor had been using it for over five weeks and I noticed her lashes looked longer and BLACK. She doesn't wear mascara and her lashes look terrific.
Some of her staff have blue eyes and they haven't noticed any change in their eye color, but it is a listed side effect.
I'm very pleased with my results so far and you can use mascara and any liner or any kind of makeup you like.
Cleanse your face and eyes as normal and make sure they are clean, although you can use eye cream and then use a drop on a brush that comes with it for each eye lid, applying it like an eyeliner and that's it. Apply it usually at night time.
Any other questions, just ask and if I can find the post, I'll answer. If you don't hear from me, PM me.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
Don't know about this for eyelash growth, but my grandmother uses it for (its original use) glaucoma treatment. Her blue eyes were fine, but it was definitely a concern--for glaucoma, it's in a drop form, directly into the eye, which might make the pigment change risk higher.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I use the eyedrops as a treatment for lashes.
(As applicators I use eyeliner brushes that I clean and desinfect *really*throughly to not contaminate the liquid)
It´s generic eyedrops and not the Latisse brand-but the same substance.
I´m taking photos along the way to document any progress.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
Now that I have more time to post...
It works,period.
BUT:It´s always best to have contact with a doctor for advice and tips.
Just like Retina-A and AHA peels this is strong stuff with potential side effects that anyone using it should be aware of and consider before using.
(My mother and sister in law are doctors, both use bimatoprost as lash/brow treatment)

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I've heard a lot of people say that Castor oil rubbed on the eyelashes at night will make them grow thicker and longer.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I have a prescription for Lumigan, which is the same product as Latisse-the only difference except the name is that Latisse comes with some useless applicators...
However bimatoprost(active ingredient) can irritate or darken the skin around the eyes-didn´t happen to me though.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I'm not going to do Latisse after all. I really want to, but my ophthalmologist strongly advised me against it. He said he doesn't like it anyway, but particularly for people with rigid contact lenses as I have. I also have a lot of allergy issues and he said that Latisse would almost certainly be another irritant to my eyes. ..cr.:
Good luck to all who use it! I am jealous!

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I was reading about this last week! Im too chicken to try it for the side effects and whats the point if they will go back to normal after you stop using the product. too pricey to use forever.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
Revitalash IS expensive. Made my eyes red. Lots of people swear by it though.
I really like Talika. This seemed to make them thicker and I would 100% use it again.
There is this Skin Actives Scientific : Brow and Lash serum with KGF not trialed it yet. (Trying out some of their other serums & quite like them saves plenty of £$).
You can always cheat & get your lashes died and they will look longer/thicker anyway

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I have dyed my eyelashed before, but it wasn't enough oomph and so I still needed to wear mascara.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
My optho professors cautioned us against it. The likelihood that it's perfectly safe is quite strong, but as with any relatively new purely cosmetic drug, they're generally hesitant to endorse the stuff until longer term studies are out proving its record. My derm professors reported using it successfully in some patients BUT they have seen the "browning" of blue or green eyes in a few patients.
If the stuff wasn't so expensive, I'd probably give it a whirl, but it kind of stinks that the effects don't last any longer than the length of time you use the product. I shall just have to stick to my fake lashes for now.

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
I just ordered the generic but now I am kind of worried and may not end up using it , after reading that one of the side effects can be hirsutism . I just paid a few grand on lasering I dont want to go down that road again!

Re: Latisse? Eyelash growth
Never experienced that myself:)
BUT others have noticed that the lashes grow where the Lumigan is applied-sloppy application makes unwanted "wonky" lashes grow out near the tearduct for example!
And be warned that more *is not* better;
using more than half a drop just wastes product and increases the risk of irritation in and around eyes.
See an example of horrible application technique here(and of how bad quality the included brushes in Latisse are)

She could have just used a paint brush! That looked horrible! I hope "Katie" figures out that is wrong.
