Thread: Necklaces to convert into belly drapes to hang from bottom of bra?

I have a bra that is black, blue metallic, silver, and gold swirled with little rhinestones and bits of gold beading scattered around it. I'm trying to find something to attach to the bottom of it to bling this up. The bra is too ornate to cover with a coin bra or other such, and I don't want it covered up anyway. A really flashy belly drape is what it needs, preferably in silver but I'll consider gold too. I made end up buying a belly drape from Dahlal but I'd like to explore other options too. So what have you seen around the 'net in the way of necklaces (or anything else) that would work for this?

Edited to add: The intended overall look is sort of glam goth for tribal fusion.

Be careful about the necklace you choose to use. I'm allergic to metal, but I risked it anyway since I can handle wearing metal bracelets and necklaces for short periods of time. The drape turned my skin green!

Could a person coat the back with a ... clear ... coating of some kind?

If you are somewhat handy with a pliers, you can always hit the local craft store and make your own. There are lots of DIY tutorials online for jewelry making, and you really don't need a lot of skills to attach dangles to a section of chain. For that matter, you might be able to get an interesting look by simply sewing various lengths of different styles of chain in swags at the bra band, and that would require almost no jewelry-making experience.

Also, if you don't have problems with metal allergies, you may not have to go to the trouble of coating the back(s) if you choose decent-quality components. I find that only really inexpensive costume jewelry gives me trouble, and it's more likely to discolor or rust than irritate my skin.

Have you tried accessories shops like Claire's or Ardene? Hell, or even WalMart?

You get tons of necklaces/pendants for next to nothing. All you need after that is a pair of pliers...
