Costume question about the "Snake Charmer" style.
Belly Dance Store.com: gallery
Can the "crotchplique" be worn to the side on the hip or does it have to be centered over my whoha? I was thinking about purchasing this to have "just in case" I need it (even though I don't perform) and I just don't like that over my crotch. Anyone already have one of these?

Gabi from NJ (Warning site plays music and has video intro so if you're at work turn off the speakers)
Has pics in her gallery with it worn to the side, with good effect. I like it better on the side.

There is a picture of Kitty wearing a turquoise one to the side on the bellydance store website.

Isn't that funny. The photos posted of the crotchplique being worn to the side completely change my opinion on this costume as well. Love it on the side.
I've never owend one of these, but I read a thread here on Bhuz somewhere about these costumes. If I remember correctly, there was some complaining of poor quality and beadwork coming apart right out of the bag. They're cheap enough that doing the bead reinforcement might be worth it if you're not going to work it do death in a restaurant or other high wear situation.

i agree with the people who said that seeing it worn to the side changes the whole way one thinks of it. wow, even i could be bribed into that!

Re: Costume question about the "Snake Charmer" style.
I loooove the way GABI is wearing it! It looks so different!
I never liked this costume, it seemed like "hey, everybody look at my crotch! It's blingy, you can´t look anyway else, even if you want to!" :DD
but I am surprised, how much difference in the look of costume was made by side wear of slit and apliqué.
GABI looks like she has very nice, classical, romantic costume, not cheapy crotchy costume.

WOW!! I love it. I think I might get it and see if it's as cheap as I've heard. I'm not a restaurant performer and I dance at home. A friend is having a Pigapalooza party (southern thang) and wants me to dance. I think I might do it.

I love a lot of the Tribaret costumes I see-but so often there's a big Kuchi piece hanging center front. I don't want a Kuchi hitting my coochie!
