Thread: for the love of peanut butter

I've recently upgraded to Safeway's freshly crushed peanut butter counter selection..there are so many to choose from..I am smitten with the honey roasted peanut butter but am going to try the almond butter next.

Guys it BURIES jar peanut butter. It's pricey but soooo good.

I've been wanting to try almond butter for quite some time as I loooooove even the smell of almonds! I will have to look for this.

Yes, real peanut butter without sugar or hydrogenated stuff totally rocks!

no trans fats...I know that for sure;) Also, most "regular" jars of peanut butter have added sugars.

I tried the freshly crushed kind and I didn't care for it as much. It was missing someting. Maybe a little salt, I couldn't put my finger on it. Almond butter is good. Pretty expensive, but good.

I love that there is a thread about loving peanut butter. I looooove all-natural peanut butter. Just peanuts & salt! YUMYUMYUM! My favorite is a peanut butter & honey sandwich tossed in the toaster oven to get a bit warm and melty.

I've tried almond and cashew and other fancy butters, but I'm a PB girl at heart. I think I took some version of a peanut butter sandwich every single day of my school career, and I still go through peanut butter like it's going out of style.

Test it on dogs and see if they like it - dogs are the only species that like peanut butter better than people.

I used to be a sales rep for Adams Peanut butter and we had to learn all there is about the stuff. Adams is all natural. The irony is that people think it's got more oil because the natural peanut oil settles on top and you have to stir it in. In reality, butters like Jif and Skippy have MORE oil because they add the hydrogenated stuff to keep it "whipped up" inside the jar. Not to mention all the sugar that's added.

For some, natural PB tastes off or flat. That may be because of the lower salt content and because some brands lack the roasted flavor.

PB also has no cholesterol (natrual PB that is)

Almond butter is absolutely wonderful!

I love proper peanut butter, I used to live near a health shop that sold it in drums of about half a gallon! it was a nightmare when it settled out of the oil and you had to mix up such massive quantities.

Really good for cooking with too.

Peanut butter, banana and a drizzle of honey on fresh, stick to your teeth, bread with a tall glass of milk. Running to kitchen.....

I love natural almond and peanut butters and cashew butter too! I just got this natural peanut butter dark chocolate stuff ... wow was it good!

I'm a huge fan of natural peanut butters! I hate stirring it up, but the flavor is sooo good when mixed with banana or on a cracker. I used to keep a jar of it in my desk for when I didn't have time to pack a lunch at work, and people made fun of me until they saw me eating it. Then they were just jealous. :)

My latest guilty pleasure: club crackers spread with peanut butter with spicy pickled green beans on top. Yummy!

My 5 year old and my dog were both begging for them (sans green beans).

I find that peanut butter greatly improves doggie breath!
