how many times to do you wear your fake lashes before tossing them?

Just curious...

two, three times, not more. my eyes get infections easily and i just dont want to risk it. sometimes (especially when i've used lots of glitter and cant get them clean), i just use them once.

I have a couple of pairs that after wearing them, I just wash them in warm water with mild soap, rinse and they are still like new.

So I still wear them over and over.

it varies for me. at some point they lose their shape. the average is about 4 for me. i raid walmart and walgreens so they're only about 2-3bucks a piece. so to me, it's worth it to just throw them away rather than risk infection.

Between 1-4 times, depending on how gunky they get and on the quality of the lashes..

2-5 times, but I clean them after use with rubbing alcohol and a little warm water.

2-4 times - I've never had much luck with cleaning them without losing their shape. Usually I pick off the glue and reuse them once or twice. Also, I tend to use my eyelash curlers to fuse them with my own lashes and I've noticed that sometimes it's hard on the false lashes, crimping some of the outer lashes.

I haven't had any problems with infections, and I use the cheapos - Ardells or Modlash. My latest trick is to use two sets at a time, though my goal is to work my way up to three like my lash idol TanyaLV. ..l;,

I wear them 2-3 times... usually the shape is gone by 3 - if it's not I'll squeeze in a 4th wearing. I try and clean them as best I can after wearing without destroying them.

Another two to three timer here. Always two, sometimes three, and rarely if ever more.

Once and only once, which is a pain in the arse. I have tried every trick out there that I can find to clean and re-use the silly things but I can never get them to freaking stay on again after the first use. If I try to re-use lashes they inevitably will come off anywhere from just before to halfway through a performance so I gave up. It's brand new catapillars for my eyes every show or go without.

I keep the old ones in a little container so I can use them to show someone else how to put them on since they don't need to stay for more than a few mintues and to re-lash my camel cutouts (they were decoration for a parade float we did at one point) when the old ones get too ratty looking.

I wear mine several times.

I always wash my hands before I put on the lashes and again before removing them. I use them until they begin to lose their shape, or if I drop them.

Just as important as the lashes is the glue. Like mascara, you should change out your glue about every three months -- definitely not longer than 6 months -- OR whenever the tip of the glue comes into contact with any surface. Remember, you should squeeze a bit of glue onto a piece of plastic or aluminum foil or similar and dip a toothpick or similar into the glue and apply to the lashes; avoid applying the glue directly from the tube.

Gently cleaning the lashes is a good idea also, as is cleaning the little storage box.

Too many times to count and I haven't thrown a pair away yet. I've used the same lashes for years.

They look just like new when I peel off the glue, which removes pretty much all of the bacteria that may have adhered to the lash. I don't expose them to water and I think that keeps them looking fresh for so long.

I apply mascara before applying the false lashes and can get the band right on the natural lash line so I don't need to blend both sets together with an additional coat of mascara.

Azhia, are you using drugstore lashes?

me too. i can wear the same pair for more than a month, even with regular gigging. just peel them off carefully, pick off the old glue and put them back in their little lash coffin. the regular ardell lashes or their generic wholesale counterparts. nothing special. i like the clear band lashes best cause the black band seems to be more brittle imo, less flexible, harder to apply

Slight deviation:
Are there any eyelash holders on the market - a nice container you can just put them in without having to reuse the original boxes?

I've reused my most delicate ones about 5 times so far - they seem to be holding up just fine. I can see though that picking the glue off will pull them out of shape quite quickly

Azhia, thank you. I've been sitting here feeling like a slob because I've been using my fave pair of lashes FOREVER! I have lots of pairs (including some from Raq the Camera!) but always reach for the same ones.

My eyes get infected *very* easily. So I just wear them once and toss em. I buy em at the dollar store. If I have a bigger gig I buy $3 ones and I still toss em.

I use mine forever until they die. I always swish them around in alcohol and make up remover, and they are good as new
