I got a Bump it after reading a bhuz thread. I need to give it a good test run before dancing in it I think, but I love the look of it.

I worry that they'll fly out of the hair during spins and turns.

I have a Bumpit. I think it makes me look like a drag version of Priscilla Presley, but for a dramatic stage look it really does work.

Mine stayed in place during a test drive of head whipping & hair flinging with a barrette behind it, so I will probably use the barrette for dancing at least at first. I'm thinking that using hair pins to secure it might be enough, though.

I've danced in a bump-it. I used the bigger one for a performance and even with spins and hair tosses, it stayed in place. :) It was only secured with hairpins.

My FAVORITE new-to-me product is Boots no7 Lifting and Firming Foundation.

I don't believe it actually lifts or firms anything, but it covers well, blends beautifully, looks natural and sits in that just-right place between matte and glowy.

I just got Maybelline's Great Lash Big Brush, since I am a sucker for 1. Mascara. 2. Great Lash. 3. Big mascara brushes.

I don't like it. It runs after a normal day (I never had this with normal Great Lash) and doesn't seem to really give my lashes much oomph. I am sorely disappointed!

This is a cross post from the old thread but I am loving lemon juice as a skin lightener/ toner. My pores look smaller and skin looks brighter. :) Love it and the price is right! Oh, and it keeps my kitty from chewing on my hands. ;) Not a fan of lemon flavour I guess.

L'oreal true match super blendable powder... Eak. Dry and cake-like, colors are generic looking and not blendable. Don't recomend it at all.
Now the l'oreal face primer is nice and smooth. It stops my eye make up from forming pools under my eyes.

I'm so glad you started a new one. I love reading about what everyone has been trying. The good reviews encourage me to try new things and the not-so-good keep me from wasting my money.

I've been meaning to mention MED e TATE from DermaDoctor. It helps control excessive sweating.

I sweat terribly (my head/face) and this has been pretty helpful when I perform. The biggest problem that I have had with it so far though is finding the magic application process between it and my foundation. It does leave your skin very dry so I am still trying to find the best way to apply my foundation afterwards.

Ah, I was just wondering if any of the drugstore brands had a good primer. I tried Revlon's age defying primer and didn't really notice a difference at all, not worth bothering. I'll try the L'Oreal!

I'm really beginning to believe that the best drugstore primer isn't a primer:
Buy Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel Online at drugstore.com
Seriously. I haven't used it regularly yet, but the couple of times I did try it, it was very effective.

Even though everyone reacts differently to different products, it's still good to know what the experiences are.

Please make sure you are all wearing sunscreen! I'm looking to start a new skin care regime myself...

Bought my first "grown-up" red lipstick (more of a lip-gloss/tint girl, only wore drugstore lipstick for HS theater..)

NARS semi-matte lipstick in Red Lizard
    Sephora: NARS Lipstick: Lipstick

Absolutely in love with it--stayed put through drinks, dancing, multiple hours without re-application. Ironically, I prime it with $0.99 lip liner

    That's the best combo!

I love the NARS color palette...

Does anyone have any "go to" lipliners that go on smooth and last a relatively decent length of time? I'm hunting for a new one. I bought one from Sephora to try (one of their mini pencils) and once I had to sharpen it to get to more of the product, it started crumbling on me. So... whatcha got? :)

MAC lip liners (pencil or creme) have never crumbled on me, nor has Make Up Forever... I don't use lip pencils too often so that is all I can offer you. :0)

    Thank you for the tips!

Out of curiosity, may I ask how you line lips to get a "finished" look? I didn't know there were other options! :)

After reading Anala's thread about her Ramone's hair, I bought a CHI hairdryer that Azhia recommended. I got mine relatively cheap (for a CHI dryer) on Ebay. I really do like it and found it was worth spending the money on. My hair has been softer to the touch and shinier.

I recently started using a Rimmel primer.

First impression: It feels alright. It seems to only come in one color (is this typical of primers), a tint somewhat orangy, but once applied, it blends well with my complexion and doesn't streak. In a hurry, I can skip foundation altogether. Other pros: inexpensive, a little goes a long way, and doesn't make me breakout. The last one is a huge plus for me.

Cons: It smells a little funny. My face feels extra oily and plastered, so it's not the best for all-day wear.

I'll compare it to other primers once I start experimenting.

I'm still looking for a mascara that will give me fuller lashes for everyday wear.

It's not necessarily the formula, but rather the application technique:

    Badonkadonk Lashes

What do you mean by finished? Something like a super crisp line?

Thanks! I'll have to try that. I never would have thought of putting mascara on top of the lashes.

I don't know... I read somewhere that you shouldn't just wear lipstick alone, so I've always used liner. I guess that's not true... learn something new every day! :)

I hardly ever wear lipliner. And I prefer not to use it professionally, either.

You can get away with not using lip liner and prevent feathering by outlining your lips with a wax eyebrow pencil. A tip I picked up from my burley mentor.

I also made sure that the foundation around my mouth was set with powder.

(Hmm, now I'm wondering where I posted this when I thought I was posting it here. Thanks, Azhia!)

Can any of you suggest a wipe-off/rinse-free cleanser you especially like that doesn't break the bank? I'm a fan of Clinique cream cleanser, but I'm hoping to find something new to try at the drugstore, grocery store, or health-food store. Thanks!

Anybody using sweet almond oil, either straight or blended, as a body moisturizer? I really love Jason's Vitamin E Beauty Oil in the lowest, least expensive concentration, and I'm am thinking of mixing up something similar using organic almond and grapeseed oils from the grocery store.
