Thread: Red costume is happening...

No pictures yet but remember some of you I discussed my need for a red costume. Of course everything didn't go as planned but I happened to stumble upon the most beautiful red fabric for a very fair price, the red is perfect for my pale skin, not too dark, not too tomato-ey, juicy, bright, beautiful red!

I'm busy with "construction" right now. Skirt has a shape will be sewn tomorrow, with sleeves. The bra fits very well, it has cross straps in the back so it's light and comfy and perfectly in place. No extra space for padding, though that would be too risky, maybe...or maybe a little padding always fits?..l;, I hate doing the straps because you always wonder: now the right is a wee bit tighter than the left, do it again or? The left one feels a little bit, maybe the angle? Heck!

Up to now it's going so smoothly! Decoration will be silver and glitz, bright, it will look good on this red, better than gold. I'm a little afraid for I have almost no practice with that. But I'll keep it simple, luckily c'est la mode anyway... Oh it'll soon be ready I will post picturessssssssss!

My hands are so busy all the time, I can't stuff chocolate into my mouth. Not bad actually for a diet,r:;

Sunday I thought I did my skirt and sleeves. The sleeves I did impatiently and they are too tight, my arms look like sausages, have to redo at least one. The skirt is too long yet and I accidentally sewed the godet for the back slit into one of the front slits and had to take it off again and leave the whole thing at my friend's house ..cr.:

Well well at least two weeks yet, but this is mostly for stitching pearls on the hem of the belt and the bra, plus the straps, which are infinite (cross straps). I'll do a design which optionally can be enriched when I'll have more time.
I'm buying pearls for the fringe, they need to be different. I'm buying like a bag with 300 from ebay, and might only need 5...

Here's a pic of the decoration. I went for simple but sparkly. Curls hugging a rhinestone. I went for linear design because it's faster and easier with little to no experience and I can eventually fill in if I feel like it later. I love curls/swirls because their curves always make me think: happy, joyous...
I worked a lot to get this done for I wasn't sure if the svarovski chain would be sufficient and I just about have a little left to fill in on the belt or on the bra...

The red is much juicier and a strange surface design has appeared on the picture that isn't there, the fabric is all shiny and smooth but daylight had almost gone before I found the appareil photo...

I'll do the hems yet and the fringe, I need to get the skirt and redo the sleeves, but then I'll almost feel I hate this cossie...just had enough of it the last days...
