OPI lower quality than before?
I've been using OPI for years, and have always loved it. But I got 4-5 new colors recently, and I'm really disappointed! Even with two coats, the color is really uneven and streaky. It seems really unforgiving in terms of how much polish you apply--even just a little more or a little less results in pretty noticeable variations in the color on my nails. I don't have this problem with other brands of nail polish, so I suspect it's not a problem with my application. Has anyone else noticed this, too? It's still really good about staying on for days without chipping, but the splotchiness really bugs me.
If anyone has any suggestions for nail polish that goes on smoothly and evenly, dries quickly, and lasts a long time, I'd love to know!Last edited by Anjela; 10-11-2009 at 10:14 PM.

I'll follow this with interest as I've been using OPI for years - but haven't needed to buy any lately...

Re: OPI lower quality than before?
I recently bought a new "I'm Not Really a Waitress" and have noticed that it seems thinner. I think I'm still getting an even color, but I did notice a subtle difference.

ZOYA!
It is the best NP I've used - especially when you use their base and top coat and the range of colours is fantastic and lasts for ages.
Leighton Denny is also very good but doesn't have the colour range, lasts about as long as OPI.

I found the OPI products not as good either. Haven't used them in quite a while now. I do use a base coat and a top coat.

Re: OPI lower quality than before?
Ah, maybe that's the culprit. I didn't know they'd changed their formulation.
I did find this letter that OPI wrote regarding their reformulation:
