My Vintage Costume In Action!
Back in July I was perusing stores in SF for Burning Man costumes and found a vintage purple & silver costume with pailettes and looped fringe. I'm not sure how old it is but at $70 it was a steal...and in fantastic condition. I adjusted the hooks and reinforced the straps, cups and belt with piping. It's really comfortable, super lightweight and really FUN to wear. I've pulled it out for a few events, most recently a performance at the San Francisco Burning Man Decompression event. There was a photographer, SN Jacobsen, who got some great shots. Maybe now I'll actually put some promo materials together! ..g.:

What kind of store were you shopping at that you found such a treasure at such an unbelievable price? Was it a thrift store that just didn't know what it was, or was it a specialty dance store, or something else?

Re: My Vintage Costume In Action!
Thank you!
It was a vintage clothing store on Haight Street in San Francisco that has mostly overpriced stuff for costumes. I don't think they knew quite what they had. It's pretty well made, needed a little tlc but this pretty has many more dances in her.
I don't get out to thrift stores often but it helps to have friends who like to wander around and look for things...and then become enablers. ..g.:
