All my belts slip. help!
Ok, I love love love bedlah (bra & belts) but I can't seem to keep them up and a few are so thick that I can't get a pin through them. I wish I had a bigger booty or bigger hips then I'd have something to keep them up. lol. If I make them tighter then I get bulge aka muffin top. I was thinking of lining my belts with velvet. My thought is that velvet would make them stay out a little better and it would give me something to pin through. What are your thoughts?

Re: All my belts slip. help!
You might try lining it with felt. That will help it grip a little. Another trick I've heard of but haven't tried is putting really big snaps on the inside of your belt and the matching side of the snap on your skirt. That way it's all hooked together and less likely to slip or twist.

silverware drawer lining. Comes in a roll, really inexpensive, rubbery material. Can't remember what it's called. Works great for belt slippage as well as keeping the girls in place in your bra!

no..no - I have 2 or 3 in my costume closet and I love them. They give something for my costume to rest on. It's like a small busted woman in a strapless gown.

Re: All my belts slip. help!
I've used the silverware drawer lining stuff, and the pin bars. Elastic in a thread casing work really well, too. When I use fanny pads, I also use one of the other methods. I've had SO many belts slip on me and I HATE that. But these methods really do work.

Re: All my belts slip. help!
Hello have a flat rear, so generally everything slides off! I have bought like a long long scarf (supposedly people wrap them around their necks) but I have sewed mine onto the inside of my belt and then I tie the scarf on, then I hook and eye the regular belt and never have a problem of my belts slipping. I have tried the rubbery drawer lining, it still fell off! I have bought the scarfs from Dollar Tree, and this have solved "fall off the belt - butt problem " for me.

Re: All my belts slip. help!
I don't even know how to post pictures on bhuz, but the scarf is generally like 55 inches or longer, and since I have 47 inch rear, I am able to tie the scarf in a knot and then slip it into my pants or skirts and then you cannot see the scarf, for then the belt is covering the scarf, since the scarf is sewed on inside of the belt. I know it doesn't make sense, but I just quickly stitch like on top and bottom of the scarf in big stitches, and it is very easy.

The Dollar Tree generally has scarves for a 1.00 for the winter season. Try and find the thinnest scarf, or you probably can even do like a straight piece of material, if the scarf is too bulky. I've sewed this on my tribal belts/beaded belts and it works. Believe me, it's not fun to be dancing and the belt falls off !

No hips, no ass dancer here! Like Anala I use fake butt and also hip pads. Gives the belt, skirt something to sit on. Also you can sew big coat snaps into the inside of the belt and skirts so you snape them together.

Re: All my belts slip. help!
Wow, I've heard of fake butt, but what are fake hip pads?? I like the idea of the snaps on the skirt & belt.... I usually pin mine together, but snapping would be faster & easier.
My hips are narrow, too. I hadn't thought of the scarf idea.

Wow, I never knew there were booty pads out there! You learn something every day!

I don't have a flat part on my entire body and I still have this problem! ,r:; But no matter how little or how much I spend on bedlahs I need pins too, Mahira. Same for the top. But I know a lot of other dancers who use velcro in addition to the hooks. It's making sure the velcro is sewn in good enough so that it doesn't tear off, which is my problem when I sew in hooks, or anything else, come to think of it. Martha Stewart, I am not.

But I think you can buy them, they are like bra pads only for hips.
