    Question Makeup Brushes ?

I bought Azhia's Basic Makeup DVD and I'm IN LOVE...I can't wait to play around with some makeup but I need some tools. I have a few Mac brushes that were a gift years ago. I also like the Bare Minerals Full Flawless Face brush that was a gift as well.

I'm looking to buy a foundation brush, kabuki brush, powder brush and a lip brush. I don't need to get them all at once. Should I get more Mac or Bare Minerals. Something else? Trying to point my man towards some holiday gifts : )

    Thanks!!!!

I have a slightly different set of the same brand and they're great. They're just as good as the MAC or Sephora ones I have.

I use straight up artists brushes from art stores. You can find pretty much the exact same brushes for under $5.

MAC brushes vs. craft store brushes. The guy in this video actually tells specific craft store brushes that are equivalent to specific MAC brushes.

    Re: Makeup Brushes ?

I have a mix of MAC, Sephora, Avon and paintbrushes. I actually think my MAC brushes have a bit more longevity, but most of the MAC, Sephora and paintbrushes are fairly similar in other respects.

The exception is the big fluffy one I use for blush, nothing beats my MAC brush for that.

Whichever brand you decide to go with (my collection is mostly Bare Escentuals brushes, with a few art store brushes thrown in), look for them on eBay! Especially with BE, a lot of people buy kits and then resell the brushes cheaply, because they don't need them.

I have had some of me BE brushes for over five years now--such as my flawless face, kabuki, and concealer brushes--and they still work great. (I should note that I don't use them every day, though.)

I second (third?) the Art brushes, for a lot of the high end brushed out their the Art brushes are the same in quality and a lot less $$$. The only complaint I've ever heard is there "not real makeup brushes" or the handles are longer than your usual brushes.

I really like ECOTools brushes. Most of mine are MAC or a set I bought from Cents of Style.

Not knocking eBay, but I recommend that you purchase brushes where you can touch them (pursuant to the email I sent you).

anything soft will work. paint store is good. i use the bamboo ones from rite aid (ECOtools). brand and fiber content don't really matter, so long as they're soft ^_^
