Red costume picture
I added this also to the what are you working on-thread, but since bhuzzers actively accompanied the idea of this costume, I want to show it.
I was wondering about the sort of red I wanted and I got really the very best red for 1. my taste of red 2. my skin colour: it is really juicy red but not too bright ferrari-ish yet.
The decoration, hum I had 4 meters of svarovski chain which needed to be used optimally, so, curls, hugging a multicolor rhinestone each time. Not symmetrical but yet a design that sparkles but doesn't spring to the eye. Maybe I'll even leave it like that. The fringe went quick, I had collected enough different pearls.
The bra fits well, it is cross straps in the back which take a long time beading but it's very comfortable to wear. The belt, hum, I could've adjusted it more, but was to lazy to change the hooks a third time, for there were no jumps or other drastical moves in the choreo...ok, but it moved a bit while I was dancing...so there is a little task yet. The skirt is trumpet shaped, it has two slits one on each leg going up almost all the thigh -my little daughter to my surprise said that one slit was cooler than two. I didn't expect such a pronounced taste at the age of recently six years...-, into the back slit I sew another triangle. I meant to do long sleeves but didn't like them, so I just did two little armbands. Finished! The second costume I did, the first of my own design, and I like it!
My hair always looks like oldfashioned Hollywood... Dunno, I just use two clips for it not to fall into my face.Last edited by Nouria; 11-26-2009 at 05:56 AM.

Re: Red costume picture
I'm happy you like it! The performance in it was only half way satisfying for the ground was terribly slippery, and the recording is ****, too, so it's really nice to hear some good comments on the costume.
Pity only I couldn't take my daughter, she complained last year about me and my friend performing in black pants and told me to wear a red costume, and it was also for her that I said ok, I need a red costume, and then one day before she had fever and all and she had to stay in.
She was so angry she told me she'll never ever go to a bellydance party again!

Re: Red costume picture
Lovely costume with a good fit to the bra- did you make thid from scratch , is this one you have modifyed. I think it very glamouous in the Hollywod Rita Hayworth way - subtle with personality.

Re: Red costume picture
Very nice of you. It's after the performance and the sort of: ah take a picture because I don't do make-up just for fun...(and I don't climb into this bra just for fun.....l;, seriously, cross straps is not comfortable to get in, but great to wear).
I used good cups, not hard but not too soft so they don't lose their shape when you stitch on them. I cut them out of a cheap bra, the rest is handmade.,r:;
I'll ALWAYS look sort of oldfashioned! Dunno why.
