Re: Naming your costumes
It's a good thing you gave the Cupcake a new life, because when it was with me it was the "Defugged"

Re: Naming your costumes

I forgot that my troupe has names for our saidi dresses! Mine is "Electric Grape". The snakeskin one is "Sticky". We also have ones named "Crabby" and "Lavender Potato".
I have a new Pharaonics that got the name "Green Lantern" before I even bought it. When it gets back from being altered, I'll have to post a pic to show how aptly named it is.
Anyone else?

Re: Naming your costumes
I have a lilac/soft lavendar dress shot through with silver, which is my luscious lilac, An apricot tone dress named Bali Sunset because the colour along with the sparkly red sequins reminds me of a Bali sunset at Kuta beach, a dark purple saiidi just called Royal purple. Other costumes don't have names just known by colour.

I'm currently working on a silver coin & crystal bedlah that I'm thinking of calling "Queen's Ransom"

Re: Naming your costumes
Now, Anj, that's Lavender BAKED Potato (it's lavender stretch lame and it gets VERY warm under lights so we decided wearing it was like being a potato wrapped in lavender aluminum foil.) :)
Oh, I have names for many of my costumes...Some are human names, for example
* Robin (also sometimes called "feather boobs"--bra is covered in red feathers..)
* Barbie (hot pin Eman with big white/silver flower)
* Rose (shiny gold and red Hannan with rose pattern in the fabric
* Kitty (leopard Eman)
Others are named more for their features, such as
* Butt-bow (A gold custom Eman that has an ivory drape-and-tail in the back. One of the gals in my troupe said it made my butt "look like a present".
* Sunshine (Orange Bella)
* Viking (Purple and gold Aida Nour. Can't call it by name in front of my husband though, because he's an avid Packer fan....)
* Flame (Black mesh dress with a red/orange/gold design that looks like flames)

Re: Naming your costumes
I've only named one of my costumes. It's my one-and-only dress. Her name is "Marilyn Monroe."
ETA: a beloved-but-now-sold costume was dubbed "Under the Sea." It was a truly spectacular costume, not because it had a lot of bling (which it didn't really) but because of the masterful way the maker sequed from one color or tone to another. I wish I still had it, but it really looks so much better on it's new owner!

Re: Naming your costumes
I've wanted to name my costumes, but I usually just end up calling them "(insert color here) Bella"
