Naming your costumes
This thread is inspired by Ozma's "Junkman's Sexy Daughter" costume. I have never seen this costume, but I love the name for it and I'll bet that thanks to the name alone, my mental picture of what it might look like probably is somewhat related to what it actually looks like.
I think it's really cool when costumes have their own names. A friend of mine has an Eman that we call "Featherboob." I have one that one of my troupemates nicknamed "Flower Power." It'd be fun if more of my costumes had names, but I am not that creative.
What names do you have (or have others given) for your costumes? And for bonus points, please share photos!

This is my Bad Girl costume, because I feel edgy and kinda sexy when I wear it. It's pleather!

This was my infamous Disco Ball Beladi Dress (an L. Rose beladi dress made of silver holographic lycra), now owned by Bhuzzer Egyptdancer

Oooh wow, that pleather is bad-ass! Did you make it? I've never seen anything like it.
I can totally see that disco ball costume on Egyptdancer... it suits her sparkling personality and joyful dancing!
Bhuzzer VegaDancer has a Disco Ball skirt... it is a shiny gold liquid lame Pharaonics "Liquid Skirt." Several of us in the troupe have gotten to wear it and enjoy its disco awesomeness.

Heehee, this is fun. I usually don't name them, but these three have names. I still have the first two, but not the last.
This is my Pink Lollipop:

And you already know the Van Gogh:

And this is the Copper Tiger that I now dearly miss and kind of want back...

Re: Naming your costumes
Every once in a while a costume gets a name. Mainly because of it's main feature. My Costless is, well, Costless. I have a vintage bedlah which was dubbed the Chrysler Building Bedlah because is is very art nouveau. Oh, and my Pirates Booty Bedlah which was one of my first. that one is here:

Obviously sometimes they just find names.

Didn't someone on here have an "Angry Vagina" costume? Ozma, was that you? (LOVE the Junkman costume, BTW! For as wild as it looks, it all works really well together.)

Crazy Candy, Lipstick Jungle, Sherbet, Starfish. . . others have pretty normal names. Still trying to think of names for my black & silver and red & gold.

Re: Naming your costumes
I had a pink Sim I called "Cupcake". I made a black and silver I called "Poison Ivy". A very modern green funky costume called "The Green Monster". I often name them during the building process. The pink Sim was the only ready made costume I've ever owned that got a name.

Nope, it's a Mamdoh (though when I bought it in late 2006 I had no idea who Mamdoh was!), and I got it from costume vendor and Bhuzzer Andrea 2. her website is Neenees Imports - Neenee's Imports, Inc. - CHANGE THIS ON index_enc_zend.php

Re: Naming your costumes
The one I'm wearing in my avatar is "Tropical Punch." The new one I just had made is "Pink Sex." I did not name that one - I was told that I look like "pink sex" in it. I have no idea what's the difference between pink sex and say, orange sex, but whatevs.

Re: Naming your costumes
Ok, I did name one costume I have. I purchased a brown crushed velvet "shell". It is a top with a skirt. It was my first attempt to hand bead and make appliques. It took two years (I'm a busy mom) to finish. I haven't had the urge to look at it since. I will, but I need to recover from my trauma! I call it the "doo doo costume".

Re: Naming your costumes
Good thread. All of the costumes that I have ever made have all had names whether they were full bedlahs or accessory sets. The Barbarella, The carnival, The Elvira fish, The princess, Etc. I think it is important to name these things that we love as we would children or pets. The few costumes that I ever bought I did not name because they were not of my blood so to speak

Re: Naming your costumes
My 6 year old named my purple vintage costume "The Flying Purple People Eater"...its also her favorite song.
Others in the closet include:
Wonder Woman - due to the fringed cuffs
Kermit - It's green
Pretty Pretty Princess - How I feel when wearing it
Exploding Fairy - Cream Geisha Moth set that sheds glitter like a mo-fo
Medusa - Psychedelic Snake print

Re: Naming your costumes
My first costume that got a name was this:

It's my fir tree. Not only because of the colors but the fringes are made from quite irregular cut beads which remind me of needles.
The wedding dress

the indian

this a friend named clown because of the colors

and this is little mermaid

but most of my costumes don't have a name, I usually just name them by the color and designer

Re: Naming your costumes
Shahla the cupcake is now mine and it's a perfect name for that cossie.
I also have "The Blue Beast" because the belt alone weighs 16 pounds. I also have a skirt named orange crush. My favorites are one that has grapes on it so it is "The Grapes of Rath" and "Cybil" which is several different cossies pieced together so it's like it has multiple personalities.
