Love them or hate them?

Definitely not for me - it's an odd look :)

I think they're hideous. Plus they look like they're made out of glitter-dot and attached to pair of undies; the bra looks like a lingerie bra to me too. A world of no from my perspective.

That was a rhetorical question, wasn't it?

I'm going to have to agree with everybody else--thumbs down on the outfit. That took the bellybimbo look to a whole new level...but since the first part of her dance routine reminded me of the Janine Rabbitt video, maybe it kind of worked. It was a whole lot of something, whatever it was.

I'm scarred--on so many levels.

She's got a long body and short legs, and I think she's trying to make her legs look longer. I think those funny harems actually work to do that....but it's not worth it...they're so ugly and neither sensual nor romantic...not even sexy, really. Bad harem pants, bad!

They are blechworthy. But when I saw the title of the thread I was expecting to see the knee-length knickerbockerish "harem pants" that some tango dancers round here have been sporting for a while. I also hate those but imagine they would work well with a lot of fusion looks, under the hitched up skirt with the stripey tights and what have you.

I only like them for the sheer novelty: this is the first time I've ever seen a pair of harems that actually makes your legs look longer!

Aside from that? The glitterdot, open crotch and clashing panties are like seventeen shades of "NO."

On second thought, I think if Dina wore them or if Bella designed them, we'd have a whole thread of stark raving fans, gushing about how "innovative" capri harems are. Just sayin'

I myself have a soft spot for glitterdot. I sorta liked these pants, but would never wear them myself.

Personally, my favorite non-traditional treatment of harems is Michelle Manx's garter harems. Cute!

And glitterdot is kinda like a Seurat painting - sure, it's a bunch of ugly dots up close, but it's actually kind of attractive if you look from a distance ..g.:..l;,

ETA: for those who slept through the pointillism lecture in their college art history class, this is the fine art equivalent of glitterdot I'm referring to:

I don't know. I think I might have actually liked the pants if they weren't split all up the side like that. Maybe.

I thought of those "tame" knee length harem pants too. I like them for summer everday wear. For dance performance I don't think they would work though unless maybe for hip hop fusion..

Looking at the still shot before watching it I did not like the look. But in movement, particularly with the half skirt in the back, this is a very nice outfit!

The ones in this clip are much nicer, but I still can't say I care for the look. For me, the long shorts/short pants look truncates the pretty line of her legs. :) To each their own :)

The pink set is much more upscale, but I'm still not a fan. It reminds me of when little boys could only wear short pants. Do you get the full pants or skirt when you're no longer a baby belly?

I forced myself to watch the whole thing. That's three minutes of my life I will never get back.

I don't think they'd be quite so horrifying the splits didn't start at the hipbones; the closed pink pair that Tamani wears are much nicer. Still not my cup of tea. The closest thing I've found to capri harem pants that I've liked were a very full pair that gathered right above the knee, with a loose flounce that ended about mid-calf. Less of the half-naked (or, as with the blue pair, might-as-well-be-naked) leg going on with that.

Wow, I really like the dancer, the dance, and the costume. She has great legs!

I don't mind the pink ones nearly as much as the blue

The pink outfit is much prettier, but I can't say I'm a fan of short harem pants on any level (and there's been quite a few harem-influenced fashion capris in mall stores in the past few years). On the other hand, I quite like boy-style knickers on a girl (like these:
Men's Golf Knickers), but for daywear, not dance wear.

To me there is a distinct difference, in the cut and flow of the fabric, between the knickers and the harems. Or maybe I'm just crazy.,r:;

gosh these bulgarian girls just wont stop trying to bellydance on this show. my bf said it's a talent show for non pros to dance (he's bulgarian)

Not a fan... kind of disgusted. The pink ones, on the other hand, were okay. I'd consider wearing something like that.
