Need some bra advice
I'm looking for a bra to modify to wear under a choli. I wear a 34DD, so I'm too small for Lane Bryant and too big for the regular stores. Anyway, I need something with a deep plunge so that it won't show under the choli. I have instructions from flying skirts on how to modify the bra. Anyway else have these kinds of problems? Why, oh why did I get so much on top? Just looking for advice on maidenform or playtex, bali, that kind of stuff. Thanks.

I'm a D and sometimes a DD too. I found great joy with the fit of Victoria's Secret Very Sexy line bras. Good support and deep plunges. I've used a few of these for bellydance bras, and they hold up well!

There's a brand called "Lunaire" that I know is carried by Dillard's, and probably other department stores as well, that makes small band/large cup bras in the $30-$40 range.
Also, there's a lingerie store chain owned by Chicos called Soma Intimates that has some stuff in that range, I know they go up at least to DD in 32 and 34, they're usually about $30-$50, but run a lot of sales and coupons.

I agree with Shiva... check Victoria's Secret. If you ever get to where you can wear a 36, I'd head to Lane Bryant; that's where I get most of my bras. Most of the LB stores don't have the 36s in stock, but they can order them for you and, since it is an item that they don't carry in the store, it ships for free.

Go to Nordstroms...take your top if you have it. I love the ladies there....They can find a bra for anything/size!

I'm thinking of heading to Lane Bryants. I'm pretty certain the 36 would be a good fit. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Need some bra advice
I suggest Lane Bryant's microfiber plunge bra, if you're going to be removing the back bit to go under a choli, it only matters if the CUP fits, not the BAND - just head into the store and find the cups that hold up the girls. Also, in the microfiber bras, the band starts out a size too tight, so the 36 might be almost right.

I love my Lane Bryant bras...except now they are too big so I am in the same boat as you.
