Thread: WWBD: Quick Costume Fix help!

So I just received a fab costume. Problem : its one of those stretch mesh lace and heavily encrusted skirts. So the weight of the stones is guaranteed to start dragging the skirt down and it is also somewhat see-through. It is soo pretty though. Remembering that I am no great shakes at seamstressing, what are some fixes to the two problems? I do not want to inflict the dreaded Raks Beaver on my audience....

The only thing I can suggest is pins, pins, pins, pin your costume to some under garments (don't go without!).

the easiest thing to do is to get a pair of boyshort style underwear or cheerleader spanx to wear underneath. you can get them in nude or in something sparkly- the dance store near me carries them. then that will give you a more robust waistband to pin to.

Also make sure that the elastic in the waist is tight enough. As much as we complain about muffin top, better a little muffin than some crack!
