Tell me about L Rose
Hi Ladies,
I was considering ordering a chiffon circle skirt from L Rose Designs.
Are the chiffons very see-through where you would need another skirt under?
Difference between the 2 and 3 panel, does it make that much of a difference?
or would you go with another style? I figured the circle skirt was kind of classic.
Thanks!

Re: Tell me about L Rose
I had a 3 panel circle skirt and it was AMAZING! Loved it! It just didn't go with my tribal stuff and I needed $ for more tribal stuff, so I sold it!
Anyway, I recommend L. Rose. I have purchased skirts, pants, and tops from them and loved them all!
The 3 panel circle skirt has more of a "classic" look to me. It is meant to be worn with the slits toward the front (in front of each leg . . . . SEXY!!!). It just gives a more "vintage bellydance" look. The 2 panel skirts are a bit more "modern" looking, IMO. Slits on the sides.
Both skirts are nice, but I really like the look of the 3 panel the best!

As far as "see through". Yes, they are. But it isn't too bad. You could probably get by with some boyshorts underneath. I wore mine with harem pants or bellbottoms underneath. It looked great either way.

Oh . . . . here is a pic of my 3 panel skirt . . . . just so you can see what I mean . . .

You can adjust the fabric so it shows more or less leg . . .

Re: Tell me about L Rose
Yea, what Zepora said. I have a black 3 panel LRose chiffon circle skirt and it is see through so I have black chiffon harem pants (also from LRose) with slits on the front of the leg to go underneath. I wear boyshorts underneath as well. The front slits on the harem pants allow me to still show leg while feeling secure with the level of coverage.
As for other styles you really can't beat an LRose trumpet skirt. If you are going for the classic look then stick with the circle skirt, but I'd recommend ordering a trumpet skirt too just to have. They are just wonderful!

Echoing what everyone else says about the sheerness. You will need something underneath. Here's another thing about L Rose circle skirts. They don't hang the bias out of them before they hem them. Therefore once you've worn the skirt a couple of times, the hem will be all long and uneven. Honestly, if you can sew at all, make your own circle skirts.
L rose makes the most fabulous trumpet skirts though, and I highly recommend them. They last forever and they hold their value if you want to sell down the road.

Re: Tell me about L Rose
I have a number of tops and pants from L Rose. I love all of them and, if I lose 15 pounds, I'm going to get another pair of bellbottoms in red.

Re: Tell me about L Rose
So if you have a petal type over skirt, that would be sufficent coveraage with an l rose chiffon circle skirt?

Re: Tell me about L Rose
I took a few pics in my living room. The first two are the 3 panel skirt over front slit harem pants. In the first one the slits are adjusted open and in the second one they are adjusted closed.

These next two are with a full 12-petal skirt (not LRose) over the LRose 3 panel skirt without harems underneath. You can tell by looking at my leg that without the harems or overskirt it is too sheer. I don't have one of the 4-petal skirts so I'm not sure if that would be enough coverage or not.

I love the look of the front-slit harems under the chiffon 3-panel skirt. Very pretty.

L Rose is one of my favorite costumers. She also dyes gorgeous veils.
