    The Dreaded Klingons!

Sorry to disappoint, but this is NOT a thread about toilet hygeine ..l;,.w.:

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has this problem. But I hate it when my veil gets stuck to the pronged rhinestones on my costumes. I have had a couple of embarassing incidents lately, and enough is enough!

Is there anything I can do to the prongs to make them less....grabby? Or should I replace the rhinestones?

And before I wrap up, what do the Starship Enterprise and toilet paper have in common?

They circle Uranus in search of Klingons.

    Sorry.

I coat the rhinestones with clear nail polish, although it's time consuming because you have to build up 5 or 6 coats. Works like a charm, though!

    ..l;,..l;,..l;, cute joke.

Smooth your hand over all the rhinestones before putting costume away or wearing it. Any prongs that have been dislodged need to be taken care of. I like the sew on stones better for this reason.

There are pro and con's between prong set pointed back stones for light reflection and sew on stones for lack of snags to costuming. It comes down to what you can tolerate.

So I guess that's one of those quickie little projects you do while watching every episode of Seinfeld that's ever been made! ..g.:

    I couldn't resist the joke

And I guess this is one of those things that sucks about rhinestone chain, as well. Chain seems to be the worst offender!

That's one of the reasons why I've gotta hand it to Noussa and Bella... AFAIK, they pretty much always use the rhinestone chain where the stones are set into plastic, so they don't catch on anything.

So clearly, the solution to your problem is to buy more Bellas! ..l;,

there are certain costumes i do not do veil with. well, only one in fact. the skirt is adorned with rhinestones but in settings, along with pointy star things..(i'll post pics once i get them :) ). i just have to make a note to myself that veils and those cute little drops are just not an option (cuz the back of the skirt would stick to my butt lol). but when i used isis wings for my recent photoshoot, nothing bad happened. weird...

Nothing to add to the prevention list, but I like the clear nail varnish idea even if it is time consuming. But just had to say love your little klingon joke..l;,
