Thread: Isis Wings

Just wondering the best place too get good quality Isis Wings. Ive looked at DAHLAL, BD STORE and AUDRENAS. Id love feedabck on the difference in quality form each, since they rang in price a bit. Im looking for really floaty wings.

I got a gold pair from Egypt on ebay for something crazy like 30 (or 38 for buy it now option) that are gorgeous but it does take a month and the case they sent it in is somewhat smaller than normal cases making it impossible to store the wings in the case. I usually hang up my wings and just put them in a case when I am going to a show anyways though.

i can tell you from experience that the ones bellydancestore has are quite good.....the more transparent ones are floatier, but they're excellent! i also 2nd Ayshe, she uses different fabrics for different effects, so custom wings from her would be great!

Ayshe. They are the Cadillac of wings - made to your measurements, no funky-cut hems (some wings you get from egypt are anything but half-circle shapes), and the stick pockets are reinforced so that you don't poke through the end with your stick... and she included a fabulous acrylic rod with mine - 1/4" round acrylic, that has the perfect combination of flex and strength.

Absolutely worth the cost.

ive had luck with ebay actually. i bought 2 pairs of wings, one silver and one gold, for only $35 each. it just need a little sewing near on of the stick inserts but other than that, they're perfect! the ones i bought from ebay are lame and float really well.

I'll second (third, fourth?) the Ayshe recommendations as they're custom made to your size and are wonderful. This said, Audrena had a pair of copper iridescent wings a couple of years back that just made me drool...

Ditto Ayshe. She will send you fabric samples, if you are trying to match a costume. She also make several styles. Just email her a pic of costume and she will send you swatches that will work. Well worth the money.She even set mine up so I can do double wings. I haven't tried that yet. Maybe after new years..

My advice is get a gold, silver or white organza pair to start and these can go with any of your costumes depending on your personal preference.

look at it this way its an investment in your dance. I have a set of$35.00 Egyptian Wings and I just purchased the rods from Ayshe.separate and they work much nicer. good luck in what ever you decide

Like others here, I highly recommend Ayshe also. Her wings are the best and totally worth it.

The cheap ones just dont cut it for me.

I got a custom made set from Faro on ebay, I was after a particular bronze colour in chiffon which was impossible to get. He was wonderful to deal with and I'd totally recommend him, and the wings are awesome.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I have posted on the ISO forum to see if anything comes up there otherwise looks like a resounding recommendation for Ayeshe!

Vote for Ayshe from me aswell. Have 3 of her wings and they are gorgeous and so well made.
